  1. Also a flysky gt2b radio £25 ish off ebay will be a great budget radio i have 3 for my kids and honestly they do everything my spectrum radio does just as good for simple set up. I don't mess around with the advanced settings so ther wasted on me. Its 3ch and rechargeable too. Be sure its a GT2B model and includes everything some sellers try to list them strangely. Or a GT2E same radio but uses AA batteries instead.
  2. Heres my old ones. £95 all in for the small black one the best deal of my nitro hobby hands down. See how the 3.3 is even missing an engine in this pic lol. Evolved the 3.3 into the nicest rc I've had they was both incredible if any nitro brings me back it will be a good deal on a revo. But I wouldn't go so crazy building the next ide just do the simple effective mods.
  3. I've had afew revos and half a dozen 3.3 engines I wouldn't feel confident about any used 3.3 engine they are jusy nasty things Probably user error more than anything but when you sell a raced out finicky engine aimed at mostly noobs what does traxxas expect. Its like giving a college dropout mechanic an F1 engine to maintain through the season. I would never want another 3.3trx engine ever. I only had only needed one 2.5r trx engine though it was incredible night and day difference and just as powerful imo I loved my 2.5r revo more than my fully modded 3.3 revo. Until i went picco26 with the 3.3 then they was equally loved. The 2.5 was just insane fun to drive the 3.3 was planted drove straight real well but not as much fun and its insane lil bro. I would love to get another 2.5r cheap like my first one just £95 posted and it was faultless now I never see one even double that in even half as good package I lucked out on that deal. Inc 6.3in maxx wheels. New era wheelie bar. A trick exhaust and worked perfect everytime. Unlike the 3.3 revo which never ever ran well until getting the picco its 5th engine. I got a new trx3.3 for the 5th engine but decided not to even bother with it. Sold it on again went picco26 which was amazing. I would search what engines will drop straight into the revo now mayb there's more around. Mayb a new picco engine which includes a engibe mount. Or direct drop in engines like dynamite t19 engine if available or others like it mayb. The most fun nitro rc I ever had was the revos but one of the worst RCs around to try and convert to brushless that shouldn't be done unless a new chassis is used to house the lipos and distribute the weight evenly otherwise its nitro only.
  4. I used to watch a bit of madrams channel some brilliant builds they so lucky to have those as toys.
  5. Yeah man but quality matters especially with that surface cheap tires will just wear out fast or round out the hexs. I think proline makes the badlands mx tires for buggys now their my goto tire in the hardest compound offerd if there's a choice. Not cheap but worth it if you'll use them long term. Or something similar. I have the badland mx 2.8in and 3.8in and ragged the smaller ones on every surface and they still look great but I tape them before install to stop ballooning which I think helps tire lifespan. Once ballooned the rubbers stretched thin easier to shred stopping them from ballooning keeps them as thick as their supposed to be. Thats my theory never popped a tire yet or had to replace a set before the rc. Yet. But never found rcs I loved this much till these rcs either. But ill replace with mx if when needed.
  6. The xs is a real nice truck way over powerd standard it just eats itself inside out. Two choices dial down the power to scale or get the heavy duty drive cups etc which isnt cheap. Slap some traxxas links on it ditch the plastic ones. I think that special edition body looks incredible one of the nicest RTR bodies I've seen. Love the green accents. It comes with the hpi dirt bonz tires im sure and they were some of the most recommended tires for the model. If they made it a kit version XS SS but with that painted body and the alloy shocks in green ide be very tempted. No mini scale rc went that well on grass it drove like a bigger scale not much slowed it down due its power and weight. But ultimately there's better bashers in the price range. Imo. But the xs was my fav mini of all. Its not nice to work on either getting to the steering or motor is horrible. But hella worth it as a side rc it wouldn't be my main.
  7. If i get back into nitro I think ill buy a real nice engine and exhaust new then buy used rollers to suit it and play the feild like a youthful oap in a nursing home. Swapping the engine out having my fun then moving to the next. I've played with more than afew nitros but only got real chuffties out of the traxxas revo nitro. They bsolutely killed anything else I had. I had bad experiences with buggies bending the chassis. Loved their acceleration though.
  8. I'm all for it. I think its dumb hearing they take away our freedoms lol. But think people who have to wear them for shifts deserve extra breaks to replenish oxygen since atleast one person went critical for lack of oxegen.
  9. I think you have it pretty much nailed. I've learned some tricks here. I'm usually half cut slap it on i do the water thing but now ill add a dash of soap since I never get it to slide around much. I think it will be better to be able to slide it into place then pin it. Thanks. The car looks great windows look awesome.
  10. Crash the economy I don't care lol. Most don't neither the majority of people have less than £100 in savings living check to check. It can only get better for those. I just don't like how usa seems to be the wolf banging it's knife and fork on the table waiting for us to serve our...
  11. I bet it looked great though until damages assessed.
  12. My freind left charged batteries and almost paid the price lol. He was hella lucky a movie he wanted to watch was on late at night past his usual bedtime so he stayed up to watch it and on his way to bed family already sleeping he saw smoke coming out under the stairs door. Looked in his battery box and one had puffed like a balloon pouring smoke out. Idk if it actually set on fire he threw it into the garden but what a lucky save. I keep mine in lipo bags kept in ammo cans now lol.
  13. 6mm bullets only do 120amps aren't they standard to 150amp escs I never took notice tbh.
  14. Installed a cheap china upgrade with its cheap china ss screws and actually managed to snap the ball end off an arrowmax hex driver without even noticing until trying to screw the next screw then finding the ballend still jammed into the first screw. I can't believe it. The arrowmax bronze tips can't be anywhere near as good as the old gold tips. First use too.
  15. The proline 4x4 is only a 1/10 mate. Ide go with the tekni mt410 all day of those. If not the tekno then the arrma kraton.
  16. What's going on with Samsung phones?

S series vs A series. Doesn't seem like much difference infact A seems better in some ways.

My Mrs needs to upgrade from her S7 edge its either the S10 or the A70 or A71. I really can't decide.

      Fly In My Soup

Oh spec wise it's night and day difference...

The a range is mid range... And as such will carry an older chipset, meaning less efficiency, battery life, reduced performance for multi tasking, video editing, media playback, data speed, any ai features to do with memory etc etc...I think the a range carries the exynos and the s series uses qualcomm chipset.

The lens and general camera setup is not as high end either... And I'd also presume (although I don't actually know off the top of my head) the screen is off a lesser dpi res

Watching tons of videos it does seem more and more pointless the differences between A and S just seem so small vs the price difference.

The only thing she's concerned about is the size 6.7in phone she only has small hands. But I think more and more ohones are going that size.

    4. Yrkoon

      Yrkoon

aye what used to be phablet size is getting too common now for the normal phone size.

still got a s3 in excellent condition and imo that is perfect phone size and thinking of strapping it to some rc models for a gps speedo app, ill give it's jelly bean os the ride of it's life  :D

  17. I like to cut the left side lights wires short with 1in of bare copper poking out. Then cut the right side lights wires just enough to reach over to the left side again with 1in bare cooper. Once their done you only have one wire running down the left side of the body to the centre where the jst will attack to front and rear runner wires. Its much neater than X pattern of wires it looks more like an E pattern. I might still have a link to a diagram in my signature. Its a much cleaner install. Use heatshrink at the twisted joints soldering isn't needed. You can get real creative with it. I usually ran 8x 5mm leds from a 9v battery. No sig links are dead now.
  18. Excellent I received a tin of it yesterday hoping to start tonight. Do I need to sand them lightly or isn't that needed with etch primer heres the parts ill be trying to paint. I have upto 3000grit wet/dry paper I think if needed.
  19. I bumped into this the other day and really Interested im hoping to follow afew videos looks great but can't really see much under the body. The body looks meh too but suppose would be a simple thing to replace. I like the wheels I think their metal. I'm looking for something house robot style to throw in the garden against my kids scx10s mayb is this. [£295.01 35% OFF]TFL C1610-A 1/10 4WD Rc Car Monster Truck 470*270*250mm Without Motor ESC Servo Transmitter RC Vehicles from Toys Hobbies and Robot on banggood.com https://banggood.app.link/8n8nUdUEm8
  20. Its an art for sure I never got it down but that flow chart helped me more than anything. I never really sat with a spare bottle of fuel and just played with tuning though i always just got it OK then tried to leave it alone. Ide say play with it get it OK then take it back and forth until you understand it better. I definitely got a better ear for it but alot of my issues turned out to be glow plugs using the wrong kind and using cheap ebay os8 plugs I think they was actually my worst problem. I'm now convinced they were fakes for a start. Defo make sure you have good plugs and long reach plugs if long reach are needed like traxxas engines I think the engines you have are work horse engines tho force engines mayb they'll be tons of info on those. Best plugs. Factory settings etc. Air leaks can be a real pita too usually from the front bearings behind the flywheel. But many say that's a last resort thing try blocked fuel lines, reset to factory settings. Plugs, tuning then go looking for Leaks. If an engine runs well for around 5min then acts up that could be worn out piston sleeve once hot and metals expand the compression falls. Once the engine is cool again it will have compression again and act ok till warmed up. I tried for a long time to keep enthusiasm for nitro but the problems just beat me in the end lol. Nitro beat me so I'm not the most knowledgeable. But long story short that flow chart helped me with tuning more than anything else. I should have just practiced with it more I think.
  21. I'm most likely wrong but could the clutch spring be worn. It surly shouldn't spin the wheels pulling the starter unless the clutch is engaged right. Worth Googling mayb until more experienced member jumps in.
  22. Awesome love the leaning rider.
  23. Etch primer? Is it crucial to prime and more so to use this stuff. I've never heard of it tbh lol. But I'm very basic on this stuff happy to learn though. If it goes well I'll do the same for the other kid.
  24. I have acouple cheap silver upgrades I think they're polished i know its not the best move to paint parts but I don't mind its only a gearbox case and servo posts. Nothing that will scrape. I'm thinking to lightly sand them with fine wet/dry. Primer idk? My paint says fine without then should I clearcoat? Its just making a use for paint left over from the body. Whilst adding more purple to the chassis.
  25. I'm hoping to install a 4 link kit to our 2nd scx10 I would like to make them with some carbon tube i have had for awhile but unsure what sizes I need to make and google isn't coming up with much. I'll use traxxas m4 rod ends i think I have. If that matters long or short pref short I think. .
