      Send item from amain to stackry usa, no uk vat applied, then forward to uk, If <135gbp then shouldnt have any added fees. Based on 2 orders i've recently done with items declared at 60-80usd.

      I've been using Stackry to ship to UK. Item ordered  from USA company, sent to Stackry in USA, then sent here. Very simple and quick, rates not excessive. Items were <£135 and no extra charges this end.

      Depends where you want to locate it. Ive used these Traxxas boxes, mount to top of centre diff. There ar different versions with wires exiting from end, not side.

    Just about to buy this motor and esc combo for my Hyper ST build.

    Are there any alternatives or is the one to go for?

      If you want the latest spec then that's the best combo. Otherwise you could get the older Hobbywing WP8BL150 esc, l still use them and do the job, and a suitable motor.

    I've had a DHL parcel sitting at UK customs for 7 days and no info. I think I will have to pay duty as over £135, guess we have to thank Brexit for these delays.

      I eventually received a VAT bill after 10 days for about £30 and the £12 fee. I queried with TRASHOP as I thought I read that VAT was included at point of sale, but they said no. The parts werent available in UK, so had few overseas choices.

    Seen something I need from Wheelspin Models. It says its 'shadow stock' - what does that mean??

    It was only a battery tray lol and I paid far too much for it but couldn't find it in the UK at all..

    Anyone ordered from Amain recently? Wanted to order something, FAQ says "no taxes paid on international orders" (meaning that customs levies the charge on entry) - yet on checkout i'm paying 20% of some kind of tax?

    Laptop has been on its way out for a while so thought I'd get my old reliable uni desktop out for a bit of CAD work and it doesn't boot anymore!

     

    Looks like I'm going to be getting myself a new laptop/pc soon!

      PCs are relatively easy to diagnose and fix like rc cars but it depends on age and parts availability.  What's wrong with laptop? Is the PSU working on the desktop?

      Based on your recent good run  i ordered several times this year from Jennysrc and been lucky with no customs fees,  but probably wont for a while with the pound tanking and your recent bad luck. Let us know if it was triggered by a specific invoice amount.

      Thanks, it was just curiosity, tech always changes and wasnt sure what 'stuff' is being used to prevent bots, apart from looking at IP addresses.

    Anyone use a Nvidia Shield for streaming HDR content, would you recommend it?

      Thanks, a tad further north in Yorkshire. Just would like some real end user experience when streaming 4K/HDR contents both from internet and local hard drive sources. My HTPC and AV receiver are old and cant handle 4K/HDR sources, 1080p is fine, but now have a LG OLED TV so would like use its HDR capabilities.  Everyone says online that the Shield is best and HTPC is dead. I would have to get a new cpu/mobo and AV receiver so the Shield seems a better value option, if it works.  I dont want a Firestick 4K.
