  1. Alkaline AA cells are about 2500mah. I've used rechargeable nimh 2000-2500mah in gt3b/gt3c tx without issues. Using one lipo cell is simpler for recharging, but I'm using rechargeable AAs elsewhere so always some charged at hand. You will need to have a low voltage alarm for lipo to prevent excessive discharging. An alternative to lipo are life batteries. I use them for nitro receiver packs.
  2. Plenty capacity https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002332883373.html
  3. Overlander may have one that fits https://www.overlander.co.uk/lipo-batteries/11-1v-3s.html https://www.overlander.co.uk/lipo-batteries/11-1v-3s/2700mah-11-1v-3s-35c-supersport-pro-lipo-battery.html I'm sure that you will find one of suitable size and capacity, just need to spend time searching. I wouldnt risk stripping a lipo pack. The cell tabs arent that robust.
  4. You dont need too much power in a 1/8 buggy as it is relatively light in weight. A decent budget 21 engine such as a Fastrax Enduro 21 will be fast and driveable. But it all depends on where you bash and what you like. More hp the quicker the fuel tanks empties. 21 engines are usually higher revving whereas 28 engines have more low end torque. A buggy isnt really capable of using the extra low down torque, mainly due to tyre size.
  5. Do you know weight of these Louise Pioneers compared to stock? Have you been using self righting or got the foams soaking wet, as those stock tyres didnt last long.
  6. 4076 2000Kv, Losi LOSA4461 tray, 4s as suits typical bashing and power is manageable.
  7. You dont have to drill the chassis to make the Losi tray fit, getting parts from usa isnt an issue and you shouldnt have added fees. Dont know about the Kyosho. You should be able to locate the tray a few mm away from spur if your drilling the chassis to fit the battery tray.
  8. Well it may depend on the exact battery tray and how it is fitted. I've used Losi battery trays LOSA4461 and not had issues but you have to remove the side guard, which can be replaced with a Mugen truggy guard as it is deeper. Hyper 7 diffs use 46T spur but you will lose top speed.
  9. Looks a great bash spot, time for paddle tyres?
  10. As long as it puts a smile on your face. Your man's maths usually means you buy wisely and most Tamiya still have good residuals. Hope you dont forget to occasionally dust them as assume they are all shelfers.
  11. The OEM spur gear on the centre diff is 52T mod1. Pinion gear is up to you and should suit your motor/esc/lipo/tyre specs. 16T mod1 pinion is a good starting point with 52T spur.
  12. Sometimes they dont meet their claimed torque/speed values, but for most bashers they're good enough. If you use larger/heavier tyres then usually you need 30+kg/cm toque at 6V. High voltage servos will get your more torque/speed but your esc needs to be able to output >6V or you use a separate small servo lipo or get a ubec to drop voltage from main lipo to desired servo voltage.
  13. Does it feel as agile with +54mm hubs and larger turning circle?
  14. Baby oil from Johnsons is a mineral oil ie. made from petroleum, so check what you are actually diluting your shock oil with.
  15. Reduces front tyre ballooning. Also depends on your preferred driving style so best try different weights, not an exact science.
  16. Just used Stackry to get an item from USA as seller didnt post direct to UK. They receive item and then post it to you. Item was 70USD and their mail costs to UK were 17USD. Process was easy and quick. There were no extra charges at this end and value declared was 70USD. Ordered item on 26 Sept and received today.
  17. Something like 30-40wt / 350-500cst shock oil, orange springs are harder, not sure difference with Pro version, get a Hobbywing motor esc combo, some pinions to cater for 4s and 6s, diff oil - 250k+ for centre, 30kish front/back, maybe some different tyres for off road.
  18. Bigger bash area then 1/8 or larger scale, truggy is more stable than a monster truck. A 1/8 buggy on a flat area gets a bit samey imo, you need obstacles and jumps for interest. Hobao are generally solid with reasonable parts support. However not as popular as say Arrma.
  19. Is that 80kg servo from Aliexpress? Did you remove a tab from one corner or cut the chassis to make it fit?
  20. Destroyed a Force 28 engine, conrod bearing failed I think.
  21. Different body and wheels/tyres, better 17mm wheel hex, thicker dog bones, captures hinge pins and hex screws on the newer model. Just take a look at the descriptions on MS site. Nothing really wrong with old version apart from the old 17mm wheel hex/nut.
  22. As DXF Power were mentioned on another post and have UK warehouse then these seem good value...https://dxf-hobby.store/collections/united-kingdom-of-great-britain-and-northern-ireland/products/esdxf-lipo-battery-4s-14-8v-5200mah-80c-lipo-hardcase-with-xt90-plug-for-rc-1-8-1-10-buggy-truck-car-off-road-drone-4
  23. Looking for some new 4s lipos for Xmaxx and not bought recently. Any recommendations on sites and capacity/C rating which will fit stock trays?
  24. Check glow starter is working by removing glow plug and placing it in the glow starter. Always pays to have a spare glow plug to rule out defective one. Try starting it with wheels off ground, electrics off and carb slightly open.
  25. New on/off switch fitted and Hobbywing Max5 esc can now be turned on/off again. Used a 4 pin plug so that it can easily replaced in the future.
