After 14 years I've retired my Panasonic plasma TV for a LG OLED C1. It's a quantum leap in picture quality, even with standard HD sources. and then UHD is amazing. You do need to adjust the picture settings as they are too blue out of the box but plenty of online info to help . Blacks are even blacker which was why I went for plasma and not LCD back in the day. Wonder what will be around in another 14 years time to beat OLEDs.

I had a similar experience my Panasonic plasma died (I'd guess it to be the same age as yours) and it was an amazing set, to the point I thought I was going to be disappointed. I bought a 58" Panasonic 902B (ex top of the range LED, before the great OLED invasion) and my god, it kicks sand in the face of the plasma ten times over.
