  1. Looks like a fun little flyer. What was the wind like on the day? My only issue with the sub-1m foam wings is they tend to get battered about even when the wing isn't that strong.
  2. Whoah, there was enough suction to take into the tb? Glad you got out of the situation without harm to anything but your keks. I know it was a bit of a bodge but I really didn't see that coming!!
  3. Well you shouldn't have so much stuff then!! How much for them delivered? PM me with the details.
  4. Sounds ideal. However, when it tells you it will change all of your data on any website you visit, I get a bit twitchy. Good find though RM.
  5. I'll take it if cb doesn't. Need to get a companion for mine, see if they will breed.
  6. Bumping a not-used-for-a-while thread but this was what we did for my 40th earlier this month. Thank you to Zeke for making it an awesome experience In the afternoon we wanted to go jet skiing. They told us the sea was closed, too rough. We waved the cash at them, they relented. We should have listened to them!! Scaling 10ft waves on a jet ski gets tedious quite quickly.
  7. I wouldn't go that high v with a 5v servo. A short bench test doesn't equate to the stress it will be under when flying. I've got a few of these (5v version) knocking about not doing anything if you want one? I bought a few for fpv setups but then switched mainly to higher voltage cams after forgetting which could handle what and smoking a couple. https://www.banggood.com/DC-DC-Converter-Step-Down-Module-UBEC-3A-5V-12V-BEC-For-RC-Airplane-FPV-p-981978.html?rmmds=search&ID=49553&cur_warehouse=CN PM me your address and I'll stick one in the post. It's only a cheap one but if you're going to risk double the voltage anyway, it's probably a better gamble.
  8. Muchos goodies. Slightly tainted by the dhl import invoice, hey ho. Folding legs for the quad and plenty of Frsky goodies for the new glider (not yet arrived). Tomorrow a glider maybe. The next day more glider goodies. The day after lots of vinyl of the wing wrapping kind. At some point the props might turn up..... Mark my words, within 6mths these goodies will have been fitted!
  9. DDM crack pipes - genius, I've always thought there was a gap in the market...........
  10. For me there is no difference between my gt2 and speccy dx2. Both plastic fantastic, if anything I prefer the switches on the gt2 but I've never been a label queen so brand names add nothing for me. If someone judged me on what radio I was using instead if my driving/flying then I'd laugh in their face. I cant stand people so shallow they go by the name not what it does.
  11. My turnigy smoked for no apparent reason. Not buying one again.
  12. @Sharkfat78 might be who you need if still active.
  13. Just out of interest, why are you using an esc if you're not motored? My sloper runs battery > 6v BEC > rx. I didn't see the point of running power into an esc with only a minimal 6v load going out. I swapped out the 3s lipo for a 2s but did need to play with position to get the COG right. More room in the fuse though. You also don't need a massive amount of movement on the flaps if just using them standard. I think mine are set as 15% & 30%, I found going much further than that and it starts pitching badly when they're applied. Try small and increase if needed. You're brave standing on the top of a hill in this weather, if that's your plan for getting it sorted asap. May I suggest a balaclava, good gloves and pocket warmers. We were out in similar weather last year and I was wearing safety goggles to stop my eyes from watering constantly. Also a snood, hat and hood under winter coat. I struggle to fly in the winter after that experience! Hope you get the tx settings sorted, it's annoying to start with but done right and it's set and forget. Good luck with the rest of the setup.
  14. I've just experienced the holy trinity of takeaway disappointment! Late, cold & wrong food. 2 out of 3 I can accept but all 3 and that's the last time I order from there. Gutted. :ack:

WHAASSAATTTT AJ. I gotta try that im sick of it too lol. Imagine ther faces getting dispute thats good thinking man.

Im sick to death of them, our indian is the best one out of all them. All the Indians serve meat thats mushy the consistency of dog meat in a can. I really wanted to send some off. This place the meat is meat though.

The pizza place is disgusting though its literally dough soaked in fat put in a box leaks all over the box then mayb they tip more grease over it to be sure it still has puddles at the door.

Im too polite to ring and moan though i dont want a free meal to say sorry. No telling what theyll do to it. I dont care on food laws those places wont either. Look at mcdonalds xtra cream stories.

This is perfect though jus get refunded they get the message loud and hopfully forgot by next order but work harder still. Hopefully.

That is an amazing tip. Thanks.

I'm boycotting just eat due to the new service charge. I use their website now then phone direct. Charging vendors and now every customer, coincidentally at the same time card charge abolished. I didnt mind paying it for card payments but I aint paying it when cash is involved.

The restaurant in question offered a replacement pizza and discount next time but I dont do food from takeaways after complaining, dont trust what I'd get. Its a blinkin minefield!

      I think this is termed a 1St world problem!:D

  15. Err, did you miss /s from the end of that statement? All my smartechs have bent/broken before they even touched a curb. Imho, smartech should have used non-propriety mounts/fittings. The minute you put a half decent motor in them, the diffs melt before everything else gives up in sympathy.
  16. I think I might change my first name to Cryptocurrency, try and raise a bit of cash. Anyone want to invest in me? :whistling:

    Worked for Kodak!!!

That'll be me, soon as I get the story out there!!

  17. Tesla was an awesome dude. According pawn stars Rick anyway!
  18. Crystals, so annoying. Massive, easily bent aerial, so annoying. 8 x AA's, so annoying. Lots going against 27mhz but personally never had a problem with signal. When it became cheaper to buy a new 2.4 + 2 x rx's, that's when I changed. Those massive metal aerials............... Yet strangely I miss the big sticky up aerial on the cars themselves........
  19. Have you thought about using a gyro to keep it straight? Smells a bit like cheating to me but it might help with it squirreling under power.
  20. https://www.amazon.co.uk/SKY-King-Control-Airplane-Aircraft-battery/dp/B015R0NLHG That one says I can have it next day. Fulfilled by Amazon should be UK stock.
  21. Have you progressed with the P2k yet? I've got two at the moment, one powered and one slope only. Nice planes, stable but nippy, good fun sitting up high or swooping down for grass skimming missions. About the only real weak point is the front firewall. Overpower the motor or come in nose heavy a few times and it will crack. I gave up trying to glue the f/wall in the end, partly down to fat hands in a skinny fuse, partly because nothing properly sticks to the fuse material. Hence one now being slope only......... Flaps really help to slow it down, I've not bothered to setup crow or reflex but a mate has the works programmed on his, loves it with full length ailerons. Hope the build is going well. If you do stack it, just buy a new one, I tried getting a new fuse posted from HK and it comes in at the same price as the kit I got from the UK warehouse.
  22. 40 quid from amazon uk so might work out cheaper than importing if it gets spotted and you pay VAT plus fees. I agree the reviews are quite positive but I'm always dubious when you get all that for £30/£40. Still, choose a windless day and it sounds like it could be good fun. Good luck with it.
  23. I hope it works out for you but don't expect much for £30. It really won't give much in the way of an introduction to rc flight at all. Learning to fly rc planes can be a frustrating learning curve, choosing the wrong plane only makes it worse. I do hope it works for you but I would seriously consider throwing a bit more money at it and give yourself half a chance to get flying properly.
