Beat me to it, I've been speaking to HK about this on and off for a week or so.

We've got the original BZ-222, which has been discontinued, so it's a relief that there going to continue to support it.

original BZ-222 asking for a version with all the option parts included, but we thought we could do better than that, so we took it up a notch and turned what was already a great value entry level race buggy and tweaked it with new stiffer arms, aluminum bulkheads front and rear and fixed the binding issue with the rear transmission that some drivers experienced.

We race ours on carpet (well the kids do), and by and large have been very happy with them.  Users have reported weak front arms, though it's not an issue we've had, the only front end breakages being hubs and knuckles.  The binding issue has reared it's head on one of the buggies - resulting in a destroyed gearbox with belt residue (kids still trying to drive) all over.  As it was I bought 4 of these when they we're reduced, 2 to run and 2 to break for spares and other than the gearbox the only part we've used as a spare so far is a single front knuckle/hub (on the same side).  Considering how the boys drive I call this a win.

I see no mention anywhere that they've fixed the mid motor issue - all the parts to convert are included but when you do so the spur gear fouls the rear arm resulting in much reduced travel (and uneven from the opposite side).  Some people have modified there's to work, with other brands spur covers, but for a feature that's touted as included it's not really acceptable.

Durango 210 shells are a nice fit for these too ;)

just looked on the HK site for a price, and for 131 for the kit form, its not bad value, my son would love to come racing with me, and this maybe the answer, however i am going to wait and see some more reviews come in before i do anything.

£131 del from the International warehouse?  £140 plus del for me from the UK one.  I'd have no hesitation recommending it at either price if they'd offer parts support in the UK or Euro warehouses - as it is it's atypical HK and there only holding parts in the international warehouse (hence I ordered a back up car for each runner and then only when they we're on offer).

There's little more disappointing to a budding racer than not being able to run because parts are often OOS and even when available take ages to come (unless you pay over the odds for quicker delivery).

Personally if I only had one little one to set up I'd have gotten a used chassis of whatever was popular at the club I ran at (Dex210's for me) that I knew I could get reasonable parts support for.
