mond 1,163 Posted September 27, 2018 (edited) I like the protection bits of it and the auto charge but I have 30 or so lipos, so it's not something I'd ever invest in Edited September 27, 2018 by mond Quote Share this comment

jea 89 Posted September 28, 2018 I wonder if the traxxas lawyers have seen this yet .. I'm sure thy will have a patent somewhere .. 1 Quote Share this comment
Gaz! 3,718 Posted September 28, 2018 It does make lipos safer to use for beginners or those moving over from nimhs, but when a battery type is locked to a compatible charger, that’s when it gets very off putting I’m afraid. some cracking ideas though, could be the norm in the future. Wouldnt surprise me one little bit if Traxxas did try it on with Spektrum, it’s usual business practice for them. i will also add, I love my Traxxas Rc, they tick every box and the Trx4 is in a league of its own but I DO NOT agree with how they operate. 1 Quote Share this comment
mond 1,163 Posted September 28, 2018 The only way to standardise is to form working groups which put patents in the public domain, similar to how the USB or HDMI work groups works. I don't think this will become the future, eventually doing away with the JXT plug as well because there's no working group to set standards on battery interfaces or technology. It's independent companies unwilling to work together. There's that new sensor port that Hobbywing brought out but in on the rccrawler forum thread about it you had other manufacturers saying that although it beats a plug from the 70s it won't be widely adopted because patents. In the end the consumer misses out. 1 Quote Share this comment
