  5. Ready to give this lovely carbon chassis a good beating today and see what it can take! I'll try and get some videos, not sure how good they're be but we'll see also switched from Monster tyres to Dirt Busters, so she's going to be way more tail happy than I've become used to (my excuse for bad driving )

  6. Took out 2 trucks again today, only the little Savage kept on trucking So far the Trophy Truggy has killed a servo, pinion grub came out, snapped inner rear hinge pin. The MT4 servo saver bound tight and locked steering, killed a servo, snapped lower hinge pin. Savage XS - flipped, bounced, cartwheeled 20 feet, crashed into a post, jumped, and launched into a lake - still running. Put four packs through it today one after the other, flat out probably 80% of the time, and the motor was barely warm! Also finally got the hang of flipping it back on its wheels when it lands boots up, chuffed is me.

  10. Hi bud, Well, she is all XL'ed but not used yet! I wanted to put some diff oil in the diffs instead of the grease (which was still the original from the factory) but HPI had used so much thread lock on the diff screws that despite heating them up to an inch of their lives I could not get three of the buggers out, and rounded the heads out! Tried to drill them but by the time the heads were removed there was not enough shaft left to get hold of them and get them out, so put a call into HPI who agreed to send me new diff cases, but they were out of stock, and I have now been waiting for 6 weeks! Apparently they are in this week, but I have heard that 3 times now so am not holding my breath! Whilst the diffs were out I saw a post on our Facebook page by someone looking for a castle esc, so I sold them the one out of my flux (it was the 2350), so now have a mmm combo to go into it too, but want to do it at the same time as the diffs, so the project is on hold. I am currently using the stock shell though, and with re drilled holes it actually looks ok, yes it is a bit short, but it doesn't look half as bad as I thought it would, and is plenty good enough to use whilst I decide if I like XL or not. I will get some pics up when I have five minutes so you can see.

  17. Lees new one has more settings, it also has certain flashes to tell you what has actually made it kick in, like signal or battery flat or whatever, which I really like. This older one though is just my own soldering abilities that have screwed it up lol. Just soldered a new plug on now, it seems to be holding, going to fire her up after my sausage roll and report back

  22. Na that's what the thing between my elbow and wrist is for. The other Losi is perfectly easy to reach the pullstart as there isn't a stonking great exhaust pressed up against it. The only way anyone would find it hard to reach the pullstart is if they were a T-Rex

  23. So I've been thinking about getting some kind of shoulder bag, just to carry a few tools, fuel and the radio, to make it a bit easier repairing small breakages and loose stuff on the bash grounds. My sister popped round with this and asked if it'd be any use, it saves me buying some, albeit having a Giraffe on the front Got to admit though, it's comfortable to carry even with weight in it, like 1.3L of fuel, tools and stuff, it must easily weigh 3kg, but can barely feel it and won't get in the way! Pretty chuffed for free

  32. Best way to learn is to take apart and then spend time on the internets working out how to get it back together. Yes the .21 is the engine size, I don't know if they put 21's in the ST as standard, more likely the heavier-duty 28's. Might well be out of a hyper 7 in the first place. There's probably a needle guide in the nitro section so you can get them at least to a base setting.

Only thing on that list is the fullkill that needed to be shipped in! Would have saved you a packet on customs fees too! James

  36. No Jury in South Africa .... the decision is purely down to the judge. Makes it cheaper to bribe your way out of a crime if you are as weatlyh and well connected as Pistorius. He is as guilty as a guilty person caught red handed being guilty.

  39. If the engine was rich then it would be boggy and low revs...an airleak could make a rich engine rev high intermittently though. If we had a engine running at idle speed and we richen the LSN then the revs drop....if we lean the LSN then the revs rise....all we are doing is adjusting the amount of fuel available for the amount of air. If we add more fuel then we need to add more air to make the revs increase, the extra fuel will not burn without more oxygen, if we add more air and less fuel then the fuel will burn hotter and faster, more oxygen. There is a point called the stoichiometric point where we have the perfect amount of air to fuel ratio....this is where the fuel burns completely but not too lean to cause temperature problems. Hope that makes sense.

  41. Skulls by Lethal Threat, Snaggletooth by Mike at Two Stroke RC, awesome graphic indeed, cheers fella, Ace of Spades card from the bay, and simply beautiful it is too, off centre application by yours truly....despite marking up Battery tray mod and relocation of Ubec pro in one... The cooling fan, note mesh grill on the inside of the cage, replacing the Bartolone panel, and the slightly dubious motor shroud thing...as i said before, mock ups to see if things worked, I will work on something prettier and carbon vinyl wrapped... and the home made battery strapping to hold in the 2500Mah 3s nanotech Tx pack that powers the fan: and Purrcy, who had nothing to do with any of the build and in fact, isn't much of a fan of the big spinny wheeled things we keep in the house: He is however a constant source of amusement....maybe it's a location joke tho
