  10. I've decided to sell my Thunder Tiger MT4 G3 electric truck as I'm going to concentrate on smaller scale stuff for a while. It was bought on a bit of a whim late last year and I've only used it maybe half a dozen times. It comes with a Sanwa Gemini II rechargeable transmitter, Hi-Tec receiver and a Savox digital SC1256 steering servo. Also comes with 2 Gens Ace 5000mAh 4S1P LiPo batteries but no charger or charging bag is included so the truck is pretty much ready to go if you already have a charger. I'll also throw in a 4S balancing lead. I've also got a programmable card somewhere for the ESC I've got a shed load of spares for this. When I bought it it included an almost complete ST-1 which had been broken down for spares. These include alloy diff cups, complete from and rear diff, front and rear uprights, driveshafts, far too many bits to list completely but it's everything in the pics. Also has a set of Associated RC8T extenders which give the truck a wider stance if thats what you want. It's got a set of virtually brand new (if a little dirty!) Pro Line Trencher tyres on Axial wheels (again new, bought at the same time as the tyres) Truck is in very good condition, the bottom of the chassis is scratched but that's to be expected. Shells bearing up ok although my wife managed to break it just after I'd got it. Fixed it with some Shoe Goo and dry wall tape and it looks pretty good. I'd maybe say it's stronger now than it was originally! It also has a Harley chassis brace. I wrapped it in insulation tape (see pics) as it seemed a risk for shorting the battery/ESC if you touched a connector to it. If you don't want it on it'll simple peel off. The battery compartment and the lid have been trimmed a little to allow the batteries to fit. Seems to be a common thing with these Thunder Tiger trucks. I may have forgotten something but if I remember I'll add to it or if you've got any questions give me a shout! Pick up preferred from Stoke on Trent but would be willing to travel a short distance to meet if that's possible (saves me trying to box it up after all!) Looking for

  11. I ran my EMB-1 today on the astro track at Kidderminster (club race meeting). http://www.kmcclub.co.uk/ Car details: LCR 4500kv motor Yeah Racing 35A ESC (same as the Hobbywing Ezrun) Savox SH-1257MG servo Intellect 1600mAh hardcase LiPo Phat Bodies 'Turbo' bodyshell + 'Bat' wing 35 front/30 rear oil 3k diff oil front & rear All other settings as per manual Findings from the days racing: Kit tyres give plenty of grip, but also lots of side bite as the sidewalls are very soft, and the car would snap sideways if the landing off any of the (small) jumps wasn't completely straight, and grip roll on the corners was all too easy. Changed to some Fastrax rally block tyres (http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml_product.php?productId=0000006205), and whilst not giving as much forward bite as the kit tyres, they were a lot more forgiving and consistent on the corners and jumps. May get some Schumacher rally blocks to try out next time. Kit springs work well but may be a bit too hard. Carisma soft springs front & rear worked better, as the car took the undulations better. Want to get some Carisma or Losi medium springs to try out too. Got plenty of speed from 17 tooth pinion, kit spur, and medium motor timing on ESC. Tried an 18 pinion, and increasing the ESC motor timing, as whilst quicker down the straight, my laptimes were slower as the car was more difficult to drive consistently. There were only 3 micro's racing including mine (along with another EMB-1 and a Carisma GTB). We were in the same heat as 4 1/10 rally cars, but the racing was clean and good fun as we were all from my local Worcester club. I was the fastest micro in qualifying by 2 laps, and the highest placed micro in the final. I didn't break or bend anything all day, and neither did either of the other micros, they are tough little things!

  20. That depends on what the esc is actually rated for ( most should say in their manual what motor turns they can handle & in what can size ), and what turns the 550 motor is; a 15t 550 motor is pretty hungry. That said, the traxxas XL-5 escs are designed & rated for 550 motors ( down to 12 turns ), so it really depends on what the manufacturer has in mind for their esc...

  21. Yes you can use things beyond what they were designed for....would I use that charger for a 6v pack..no....would I ask a battery question in a different section of the forum..yes.
