  2. Well, it's simple enough.. a thread for people to post photos in! From starting out to trying to go pro - anything can go in here! Mobile phones to compacts to SLRs - even old film scanned in! I think it's fair to say there needs to be a few guidelines for this, as I see it they should be - 1) YOU took the picture, no "LOOK WHAT I FOUND ON GOOGLE LULZ" or stealing from other people. Photographers really dont like it, and there's the Funnies forum for lolcat pictures. 2) NOT endless RC pictures - there's the Show Off gallery for that! 3) NOT 7 pictures of exactly the same thing, but everrrrr so slightly different! 4) NO laying into other peoples work/them personally! If they say comments are welcome, then comment, but nothing aggressive. Factual comment and stating of opinion, but no "you're wrong" etc please! There's a reasonable chance this thread will fail like Guy Ritchies career, but hey-ho! It's worth a shot! Flickr and Photobucket and ImageShack are probably the best hosting (imageshack and photobucket are the best free options) - and try to link to downsized images in the thread with a link to a higher resolution image! There seems to be a fair bit of interest in photography here so let's try and get the creative juices flowing!

  3. Why do you want wider tyres on the rear? I race a full size buggy like a big marder () and try to use the principles from that for RC. So, wider rears equals more grip equals a faster car, correct? Well no! fast cars are all about balance. Wide rear will lead to a complete reversal in your problem and create terminal under-steer (back pushing through the front) not nice to drive. A fast car is one that turns in well using weight transfer to the front (slight trail braking into the corner) and is just loose/beginning to rotate on its axis. That slight rotation gives you the chance to a) apply throttle to slide some more or be patient as the car turns before feeding in the power. If I were you, I'd play with set-up and adjust things like rake, caster, camber, damping rate and springs. Bigger rears is not the answer as I personally think Baja's are over tyred on the rears already. What about going smaller on the rear like an Ellcon/Marder wheels/tyre set-up? What about locking the rear diff, won't help with understeer, but that's not your issue. I'm babbling away here as there are so many things to consider. My only real advice is don't add more tyre to the rear of a Baja.

  15. seeing as it was run with a 15t motor it should be enough to handle the p2k. you will be able to gear it really high as the p2k has tons of torque, its a massive quick point to point motor, the later p2k2 ones are the highest torque output stock motors i have seen, putting out about over 1000g/cm which is more than double most regular stock motor outputs, which means you can gear it really high to get good speed out of the car. a lot of people used these in 1/10 touring car back in the day, very good motors.

  21. I did have Maverick and HPI recommended to me by someone in a shop in Macclesfield - but as far as I can tell they only do pre-assembled ones. Alex - same issue with the one you suggest. Is Speed Passion a decent brand? And also, what's the 2.4GHz thing about? I've read that it's a newer allowable frequency, but what's the advantage of that? Less likelihood of interference? Looking at one of the links above, looks like Short Course truck is just another phrase for stadium trucks? I do like that style, I have to say. Oh - another question: Wheelie bars. I've seen them mentioned a few times. Is this just something that stops it rolling if you do a wheelie? Or does it somehow make wheelies more likely?

  23. Its easy to convert to brushless but i'm not convinced it would be easy to convert mine back to the original nitro as there were quite a few parts that i changed and it would probably be quite fiddly to remember where everything went again lol. I absolutely love it though and i know i'll never go back to nitro even though i loved the loud grunt of the nitro engine! Brushless IMO is quicker, quieter (the neighbours appreciate it lol) and less maintenance i.e. no airfilter and after run oil service plus no messing about tuning the engine... Just simply plug n play! :-D I'm not sure of the top speed now but i know its much quicker then when it was nitro including off the mark. The first thing i had to do when i took it for its first run as brushless was tighten the slipper as the acceleration was just too much for it as it was lol
