Thanks once again Tim.I asked the same question on the Traxxas forum and it started a bit of an arguement as to weather you can run them in series or parallel only. One guy says he runs them in series. The little thing must fly with two 8.4v batteries in series :P

Any reason why? As long as they are treated correctly and with the correct pre-cautions there shouldn't be any problems. NiMHs are just as dangerous and can blow easily to. LiFePO4 is the only 'safe' technology; even then if they are badly mistreared they can blow.

LiOn/LiPo is used everywhere these days from laptop batteries to mobile phone batteries and EV Cars.

I wasn't sure which tech I wanted to use but am glad I went LiPo as they outclass NiMH for punch and runtime.

I have to agree with nathanio with this one.

At first I was a bit precautious with using them, but now I run lipos on all my rc's, they're the only battery I'm going to buy!

You don't have to worry about discharging them, they don't have memory effect, and I have never used a lipo sack (touch wood) when charging them. (I might get an earful for this  )

Lipos are the way forward mate, and you will really see the true power of the merv on 3 cell :D
