Hi all.

Just wondering what the best upgrades would be for my first savage.

(its a 21 btw)

Thanks

(obviously a new engine as well, which engine would be good)

17mm conversion on the wheels as the 14`s strip to easy

vented steel spur gear & clutch bell

6v 1800mha+ hump pack gives you more power to the servo`s

high torque high speed servo for the steering

duel stainless drake conversion

these are just a few basics the but theres loads more you can do with it right from diffs to full ally parts and shocks :D

good luck buddy

right, ive bought:

3 speed box

Alloy centre skid plate

Wheelie bar

hump pack

high torque steering servo.

I cant seem to find the 17mm hex conversions and the duel stainless steel disc brake. I dont have enough cash to buy them atm anyway so thats probably a good thing

I'd avoid a steel spur until you're more used to the car. I still don't use one now. The nylon spurs are damn easy to replace if you do manage to strip 'em (no breaking down the car to get to it) and it'll protect the rest of your drive train in an impact. So long as your clutch is well meshed you'll get plenty of life from a nylon spur.

To test the mesh, run a small piece of paper between the spur and clutch. When you take the paper out it should be heavily marked/bent but not torn.

The diff mods work wonders for getting the power to the ground. Savage has a nasty tendancy to baloon the tyres otherwise. Go for the 4-gear diff mod and put a heavy oil in there. http://www.savage-central.com/ should have some good howto guides to help you out.

Look on ebay for the 17mm conversion set, they are on there for around

what are the driveshafts like on the savage.

Do they tend to pop out often or are they pretty safe and sturdy
