As Rich mentioned I may have been away. Wasn't really feeling it that much with camera (well I did feel the weight!) but here's a few of the better shots;

Oulton Park. Qualifying on Saturday and racing on the Monday weirdly. I'll only be there on the Saturday.

well 

 

i went to town, set up the camera to the big 400mm scope,

hooked it up to the pano head mount, slipped in a 12v dc feed

and i waited, and waited and waited ..... 

 

23:50 was the time the shutter first clicked open. 25s exposures at the full 400mm F5.0

i went with a large ISO1600 but alas the 350D just is not cut out for astro photo's.

the dark frame shows around 40-50 small single pixel stars ( dead pixels ) all pure white.

Well anyways i kept on bashing away. 37 images , and from the lot i had 2 perfect.

 

its was about 0:59 when i gave up, waited all night sleeping and the next morning

woke and razzled the photo's i had captured. Guess what, works out if i pointed the camera

just 1 degree  higher i would have captured a galaxy. what i did get was an empty sky with about 10 stars. 

 

no picture as 10 stars just is not worth writing home for, infact theres just no data to pull from the images lol

 

ARGGHHHHH i wish i haff live view !!!!

In that case, nope. Was only in that pit briefly and they chucked some fresh tyres on and went out again!

If you have Netflix and a bit over an hour to kill, watch Chasing Ice. A great doc about timelapses being made to show glaciers retreating. Some of the stills the closing credits are played over are simply ridiculous!
