cew27
dont listen to smithy ... check the throttle arm is on and that the car is at idle position by tacking the air filter off and checking the gap
Ziggy122
Things to consider - Idle speed is too high - Low speed needle is to lean - Not enough fuel - Fuel filter not allowing sufficient flow - An Air leak? - Bubbles in the fuel line - Pressure (tank to exhaust) tubing has become disconnected / poor sealed / leaking Ziggy
Mr. Bass Man
I may need help on this matter also, I decided I would see if I could run ye olde smartech again and the best i can get it to do is rev a lot but then it cuts out, idle is fine and all tuning is what it was before, but I don't think there is pressure between the fuel tank and the exhaust, when i put my finger over the exhaust and pull the starter no / very little fuel flows to the engine, i'm not really sure how to solve this problem, It's is not desparate because i took it apart to cheak everything else , and I've got my hyper for now, but it would be nice to get it going again. any help on this would be great Thanks, Mr. Bass Man
Ziggy122
mr. Brass man Blow down the pressure tubing instead... Turning Engine over with finger with exhaust is a slow and painful method.... Ziggy
Mr. Bass Man
yeah i tried that aswell, but it didn't work, the fuel just wouldn't go, i got it started by putting fuel straight into the engine but it won't take fuel from the tank, Thanks, Mr. Bass Man

Mel
still sounds like your idle, make sure you only have about a 1mm gap. if you are unsure take a pic of inside the carb when it is at it's idle position.
smithy1135
Have you checked that your throttle linkage is connected properly. Also make sure that the throttle arm hasnt snapped because it happened to me before.
