Mod 1 pinions

Got a bit of a weird question around pinions and specifically if all Mod 1 pinions are the same.

 

Logic tells me of course they are but I have been building a roller Kagama and the stock 13t I thought might be a bit tall and know these can run a bit warm so grabbed a Yeah Racing 11t mod 1.  

 

When it arrived i could see that the teeth were less sharp looking than the stock one and I struggled to get what felt like a good mesh.  

 

Out of interest, I then got a Corally 11t and that had the same sharper looking teeth and I managed to get a mesh that felt so much better (not run this yet so all by feel).

 

So, was this a case of me over-thinking the tooth shape or can there be slight differences?

only thing i can think of is that it wasnt finished of properly can you post a pic of it ?

Not sure if this shows it well enough but the Corally is on the left and a Yeah Racing and I cant remember where I got the other one on the right. 

 

To me, it looks like the Corally one has a sharper tooth.

hmmm the corally 1 does look a bit different in the shape of the teeth

the 2 on the left look they will mesh together ok  but the shape of the teeth on the corally are different 

never noticed that on our corally's as we've never changed the pinions on ours

The form is the same however the way it's cut can and the visual design can differ however they should all work together fine.
