Absima 1/10 EP Desert Buggy ADB1.4 RTR Green problem

Hi, My buggy has an issue. At the track yesterday I popped in a 5000ah NIMH battery and bashed around the track until the car slowed indicating the battery was getting down.

I replaced the battery with another, fully charged and it took off as normal, but with in a lap slowed, as if the battery was down. Another fully charged battery had exactly the same result, it's almost as if I had turned the throttle down to 50%. The motor has a fan, the esc was cool and I'm stuck!

Any suggestions as to what I change first would be most welcome.

Double check these in this order:

  1. Were the second and third battery actually fully charged? Maybe test the batteries in  another car?
  2. Recalibrate the ESC
  3. Check for binding that could be slowing the car down, although this would normally generate some heat in the motor and ESC
  4. Check the motor and ESC for the magic smoke smell

Thanks, I'm sure the batteries were charged but will  double check,  it's not slowed by anything. What puzzles me is initially it goes as normal, for about 150 yards on each battery. I'll rebind the esc, and as I have a spare esc if rebinding doesn't work I'll pop in the other. The motor was quite cool and I didn't get the dreaded smoke smell.

Could it be dirt on the commutator?

Cheers, Geoff
