Popular Post Alex97
I've fancied a little trail truck however I'm not a massive fan of the standard crawler setup as your kinda limited to it just slow crawling. After seeing @Kpowell911 little summit and having always fancied one, partly due to the lay down shock as I think they look really cool. The RTR price brand new is crazy so I found a lightly used mini Revo on eBay so put an offer in and it was accepted. I really only wanted the chassis so everything else is going to be sold on. The only parts I needed was the 550 motor plate and longer rockers, these have been ordered from Jennys RC. Bodies for the 1/16 range have dried up over the last few years so I've ordered a F150 that's for the Savage XS, it's slightly bigger than the stock ones however that won't be a problem. Changes to be made... Lock front and year diff, traxxas sell a diff locker that drops straight in. Stiffer oil in shocks Fit 550 gear box and flip internal gears, this should reduce the top speed and give me more toque. Fit longers shock rockers Paint new body Fit summit bumpers and install lights Fit dual servos Fit 1.9" swamper wheels and tires Shim diffs (a must) I'll be using a 1080 ESC paired to a 35t motor. I've ordered two 22g servos as I like the idea of having two servos as you can never have enough. I'll also be running two 2s 1800Mah batteries for longer run times. so far I've stripped everything down and fitted the ESC, I printed a little mount as the stock one comes with mounting lugs to it can be slotted into the chassis. Most things should be arriving next week however I'm away for a week so it's gonna have to wait until I get back.

Alex97
Almost everything arrived, just waiting on the gear box. Body fitted really well however I did have to add a few standoffs to length the bumper. I need to order some hex extends to push it out about 10 to 15mm. I think the body is a good fit.

This is pretty much standard with all traxxas cars 😂

Ross9999992
You peeled off the inner “peeloff” first right? Looks decent enough from here though 👍🏻 (there is no inner peeloff - probably) Edited September 21, 2021 by Ross9999992

The window sticker covers pretty much all of them. The wheel arches are the bits I'm not 100% happy with, they are really hard to line up. I kinda wished I'd masked them and painted them black rather than use a gray sticker.

LEDs will fit into the bumpers however I'm debating whether or not to add a light bar on the roof.
Alex97
Dual servos fitted, dual batterys fitted and break lights fitted. My controller has a crawl mode that lets you run two servos without needing to use a Y lead in what's already a very full RX box. Productive afternoon.
tomr
This Is looking great 👍 If I buy one this is pretty much what I’d do with mine, lock the diffs and slow it down a bit .

Alex97
LEDs fitted, the bumpers come with a 5mm holder built in so it's really just a plug, solder and play job. I've removed the 2nd servo and they were fighting each other, I'm planning on ordering the new power HD tr5 and the spec is perfect. I'm now just waiting on the 540 motor mount from the states then im pretty much ready to go. I'm using the spare servo as a winch to try and add to the realism.
Popular Post Alex97
540 motor added and long travel rockers added. I'm still waiting on the hex extends before it's ready to take out. The shocks are horribly soft so I need rebuild them and order some harder springs.
Shergar
Is it not worth trying the soft shocks on the trail first? Looking a capable little thing though 👍
