Motor with temp sensor port

Hi all,

I have ordered an EZRUN 3652 motor and notice it has a temperature sensor port on it. Does anyone know what this is for? I'm assuming you can plug something into it to give an easily readable temperature reading? I have googled and searched but can find nothing that sounds like what I'm assuming would plug in there... Is it a lead that comes from the ESC to auto shutoff or something similar?

There  hobbywing  max esc  have a sensor cable on it to plug in the motor, so when  the motor gets hot it shut down, it is to protect the motor.
