samp97
So, some 6 years ago I purchased a dead revo 2.5r and fitted a Picco 26 Max and the big block kit and reverse gear delete etc. So I'm sorting things out and I find the car in 2 pieces. For a reason unknown to me, the engine isn't attached. Luckily I'd filled her up with after run oil so she still rotates nice and free. I can remember the last time I ran the car the OWB failed and chewed the hell out of the pull start, maybe that's the reason I gave up? Who knows! Anyway.... I want to bring her back to life but I'm scratching my head as I know these engines aren't made any more so parts are scarce... Or are they? I don't know! From what I can tell this is what I'll need to get her in a somewhat restored state, I'm hoping there's a guru out there willing to help me with advice and some links?: Complete new engine mount set, the mount on the car has cracked and the mount on the engine looks screwed (reading an old forum post of mine, I think I crossthreaded a hole and bodged it up. Complete throttle and break linkage, it's missing altogether... Throttle servo, maybe a high speed alturn USA? its seized solid New electronics box and servo box (lids missing) Now onto the engine... The complete exhaust is missing so I'll need: New exhaust, new one way bearing, new pull starter.. Possibly A new glow plug and definitely a new air filter.. You guessed it... Its missing! I'm begging there is a RC car god looking down on me and one of you wonderful people can help! Thanks!!
samp97
I've done some digging and maybe found a pull start... I'd greatly appreciate any further help 😁
willb
From memory (this is going back some years when I had the same engine) the standard Traxxas pull start and OWB fit onto the Picco. Worst case scenario you can fit a Revo on a starter box so maybe that is a consideration. You won't be snapping pull starts anymore either! The throttle linkage shouldn't be a problem to buy, find the exploded diagram on the Traxxas website and it will have the part numbers you need. Here is the parts list - https://traxxas.com/sites/default/files/5310_parts-2007_0.pdf And the linkage - https://www.modelsport.co.uk/traxxas-revo-linkage-set/rc-car-products/23836 Exhaust, get the Traxxas Dominator, that worked well with the Picco and can be bought from Modelsport too. Air filters and the rest can also be bought. You should be fine to get it up and running again
