sppiinn
Wonder if anyone has any good tips for the job? Has come to that dreaded time where my buggy needs some love and i was wondering if anyone had some tricks for cleaning out the old silicone from the diffs? Always takes me awhile and seems i like to make a mess during too..

Strip the diffs separate any bearings and rubber o rings drop all the rest (gears and housings) into a glass jam jar full of white spirit leave for a while shake or agitate, remove thoroughly dry with paper towel and reassemble. ChrisT
Gunk. Use it every time when stripping and cleaning diffs and gearboxes, metal and plastic, removes all the crud. An old toothbrush comes in handy and so do a pair of rubber/medicinal gloves. Petrol is a good cleaner also.
Nitroholic
It's just a messy job. No getting round it. If you use any solvent...make sure it is all gone before you put in fresh diff oil
tomzac66
I use WD 40 for the gears + bits, and a foam degreaser for the housings with an old tooth brush. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
