...are these really?

I have a couple of old cars and My Nephew now has a Nitro (His running way better than mine! Typical!) But I was looking at the Traxxas and they seem to get a good rep, as they as good as they say? are they worth the price? Any info is always appriciated, before I spend my hard earned cash ;)

Thanks :)

Glen

The traxxas cars are designed really well but let down mostly by their poor quality plastics, the old tmaxx was known for breaking bulkheads and arms. If you want something reliable and bashable you might want to try something else. My basher is hpi truggy flux, it's very tough.

Traxxas engine is finiky too hence calling it race engine lol. I love traxxas stuff but not their 3.3 engine. The 2.5r was a better experience than four 3.3 engines lol.

Theres a cen gst 7.7 on ebay at good price if spares are readily available ive heard its a tank.

Losi LST is one i would like to own some time prob brushless though. Nitro is one long head ache. I was a die hard nitro for the first two years then slowly switched.

I totally agree, the traxxas engines are very fussy to get tuned and they don't last long, my old nitro revo is running a Picco .26 max and it holds a great tune that rarely needs adjusting, the traxxas engines were always needing plugs and adjusting from day to day.

My tmaxx 3.3 was very fragile. The A arms broke , the engine had hairline cracks in It,  the body split on the first rollover while I was being gentle & running it in ?.  I really wouldn't bother. Get something that ain't a money pit.
