FINISH BUILDING MY BAJA OR SELL AND GET A 5IVE

So I got the hub pin through on the other side with no issue, tried to tap out the hub pin on the faulty side with another one and noticed they are not perfectly at 180 degrees with each other, dunno what to do there, I bought those hubs a long time ago on Ebay. Note the top hole where the rear upper plate screws into the rear plastic bracket how it doesn't line up,  this is the story throughout this car.

Also I noticed that the dogbone pins set flush with the new  drive axles I bought but seem short for the ones on the SS diff, I'm assuming they may be the larger 5sc hubs on that diff so do I need to purchase longer pins and where can I get them?

I guess the dogbone ball is too small in diameter diffside, too. It seems you have the 25mm diff cups and 20mm drive axle ?

This is from the HPI website:

Also available are the Super Heavy Duty parts that made their first appearance on the Baja 5SC truck! These include extra-strong 9mm thick dogbone driveshafts and the axles & outdrives to fit the dogbones. You can also get a pre-built Complete HD Alloy Diff Gear Set fitted with the Super Heavy Duty Diff Shafts! #104963 COMPLETE HD ALLOY DIFF GEAR SET (BAJA 5SC) #104965 SUPER HEAVY DUTY DIFF SHAFT 25x48mm (2pcs) #104966 SUPER HEAVY DUTY DRIVE SHAFT 18x116mm (2pcs) #104967 SUPER HEAVY DUTY DRIVE AXLE 25x70mm (2pcs) The Super Heavy Duty parts must be used together because of the diameter of the dogbone. The rear arm may need to be trimmed for clearance of the dogbone as well, please check this carefully to avoid drag or binding in the drivetrain while driving.

If you have the 5sc cups, the flm sd extended shafts will fit bud.

I run these on my bigbore rig:good:

So I'm guess the extended dogbones taht come with the FLM extended arm kit are not super duty? The thing is they measure 9mm in thickness along the shaft too so I guess is it just the ball ends that are too small? It seems easier and cheaper to just get the standard outdrives for the diff, although after the amount of faff putting that together with lithium grease inside, threadlocking the screws and the whole ball achche of building the rear end getting everything to line up I'm not looking forward to that either

I got the driveshafts for 4.99 a piece form rc modelz thats another reason I dont fancy spending 45 quid on some more for basically the same thing and 35 quid on dogbones, the more I learn the more I'm thinking for the amount of money I've wasted I could have but a nice 30 dnt roller and put a top of the line cracking engine in there for the same price.

These might be an expensive but possible  solution for a "25mm cup/ 5mm Pin " setup:

Ye they look pretty sweet, the FLM ones are cheaper though, I've seen that Godzilla kit by ALX racing which looks pretty good, but its 150 euros and not sure if it comes extended as doesn't say on the website. I might try and bodge it initially and see how long it lasts just putting longer pins in one side of the dog bone.

i've only ran mine  several times on 6s in 2017....  will try 8s 6750mAh this year. I have no comparison to gassers as me and my buddies are all on batteries. Next time will be on 6s but with sand paddles in the gravel pit !

How are you finding it man, do you like it, is it still fairly quick on 6S?

Any of you know if they make a rounded roof scoop similar in style to the carbon creations one? I really love that bit and thinks it really helps sleeken the baja and make it look really awesome and less boxy but apart from that one which is no longer made and super hard to find, I haven't seen any that are similar.

I think on 6s it is still possible to handle but on 8s i guess it will be hard to tame that kraken beast.

Yea thats the one , I always thought anyone who had it on there baja it instantly made it look twice as cool, it was one bit like a few others that I knew I wanted no matter the cost, but its more the shape than the fact its carbon why I want one, In fact I rather it wasn't carbon.

They do look pretty sweet, have you got a kraken cage on it at the moment then, how does it handle with all the weight high up?
