Oh How Original
Thought I'd just ask, before getting my hopes up. My friends going to America in November and she's said as long as I pay for the extra suitcase, she'll take an extra one up to 10kg for me, so I can buy stuff in the states to save on import taxes and expensive shipping bills. I just wondered if anyones done this recently and is their any limits or anything? I figured I'd get it cleared up now by those who've already done it before, then I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing.

stretch
think i read somewhere that if its all in it's retail packaing etc and you get checked you can be liable for duties or whatever but if it's just model by itself no way to prove it's new or something like that, i may have dreamt it though. Tatts
i brought 3 apple tv 2 Gopro's and a few other things back no problems I don't think there's much risk if in your suitcase but if by chance they got checked, they can't charge you on 'used' goods This is also how they get away with bringing extra fags back. Open each packet and smoke one or two out of each pack

turok007
if you are caught with loads of new RC parts in sealed bags with no price tags will they just take it as they cannot prove how much they were. it's not a i phone or something that would be easy for them to put a price on. hebby
Obv there isn't gonna be a full shop of RC parts in your case lol as long as your not sitting on the case to close it because it's rammed with RC stuff your ok I been states 4 times now and 4 times brought at least 2 cases full of new stuff but spread over 3-4 cases and never had a problem even Lipo in my case was ok
Carpmart
Last Sept, I brought 10 kg of RC stuff back from California, in Nov it was 8kg and a whopping 17kg back in Dec from Vegas after the black Friday sales, my DDM orders were huge. I've been doing it for years. I've got a very oversized case and friendly colleagues who I sometimes travel with, who 'mule' for me. Even easier if I'm travelling business class (not always) as have large baggage allowances. Its not us customs are after. Its bad people, wanting to do bad things or drugs, organised money laundering etc
turok007
i was just meaning one kit without the box.
Oh How Original
In truth what I wanted brought back was possibly a kit or two, and a heap of wheels and tyres, just to stock up for my current RC's and maybe some upgrades. I wasn't planning on like bulk buy kits to re-sell or anything. So best bet sounds like take the shrink wrap off and remove the invoice? Just to be on the safe side. Does anyone know off hand how the price is worked out for an extra suitcase? By size, weight and/or destination or what? Never been on a plane, never booked a flight, so haven't got the foggiest lol. Oh How Original
Yep I reckon I will... She actually goes like 3/4 times a year normally, she just came back this morning in fact and popped round to see us and saw my TF2 in bits and that's when we got talking about the idea. Could perhaps be a regular thing for my quarterly dose of RC goodies!
stretch
maybe there's an organised ring looking for rc mules.
