body shell painted with enamel paint!

hi there i need help i stupidly painted my new shell with enamel paint now its flaking a little i dont want it to get worse is their anything i could back it with to stop this ? or does anybody know where i could get (hpi macclaren f1 lm 200mm) decals and paint masks ? any help would be great cheers :)

The paint used was only good for display.

Needed to be painted with Tamiya 'PS' polycarbonate / lexan type paint.

This adheres better and remains flexible.

 

As mentioned above - duct tape, Shoo Goo, etc., could help, for a while, but will come off each time the body is flexed.

gutted looks like a respray it was looking good too :( how would i remove the rest of the enamel ?

 

given the paint will flake off over time you could probably just scrape it off, other wise you could using the nitro fuel method or dot-4 brake fluid, but you do run the risk of damaging the plastic shell and making it go cloudy, making the new paint job look odd, or making the shell very brittle to the point it just breaks apart.

I wonder if freezing it might help it come off....  first try leaving it overnight outside, then gently flexing the body to crack the enamel off.  You could then move upto the freezer if needed, be warned though Lexan is easier to crack when cold.
