Replacing motor bullets: advice please

I received this hobbywing motor the other day for another project I don't even have the money to buy yet because that how my logic works :)

The motor comes with 4mm bullets and so I'd like to get rid of them my cars have 5.5mm bullets. Only thing is I think that this motor is one of those that has the extended motor windings that I've read must not be cut so my question is:

Is it just a simple matter of unsoldering the 4mm and soldering on the 5.5's? Or am I better off making some short length 4mm to 5.5mm adaptors?

Cheers.

You're just adding more resistance by making adapters so you're better off desoldering them and replacing them. But yeah, don't cut them.
