carlos515
Hi. I'm new to short course racing so could some one explain diff oil weights to me please and which set up would be best for my 4x4 sct which I race on a low traction slippery surface. Thanks in advance :-)

justingt5
A very useful chart that, different trucks respond differently to diff oil weights. They are listed either as cst or wt. Some are comparable others are not. Example 350cst is approx 35wt, generally though diffs use much thicker oils in sc trucks. My old Slash I had 10k wt in the front 100k wt in the centre and 7k wt in the rear, yet my Tekno SCT410 uses 7k front 7k centre and 5k rear. b_hawk111
Im interested in this too, just took my home converted kyosho out for a spin and it was very easy as it tipped into corners the wheel with the weight off would spin easily, almost like a more locked diff would help it keep traction, would thicker oil help reduce that? carlos515
Newbie question again! What is the best grease to us on the gear that's on the diff and the gear that attaches to the shaft?
.AJ.
Graphite grease is perfect for metal on metal contact

mattr
They are listed either as cst or wt. Some are comparable others are not. Just stick to cSt, then they are all comparable.
