Pull start problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Recently my pullstart would accasionaly come out without me pulling it very hard. basically it's not turning the engine over at all because it seems to just slip through. this problem only happens 20% of the time but i'm worried it;ll get worse. any ideas what the problem is?

yeah, one way bearing, pretty common, easy to fix.

edit:

Here are some from the bay, check sizes though as i have never owned a Hyper 7 before

This needs a vice or simalar to press out the old one and press in the new one but not everyone is equiped or comfortable doing this so heres a ready made one - straight swap

I found that once it had started slipping (generally indicating a leak from the backplate somewhere) it will continue to slip until the leak is sorted, you may clean it and get a good few pulls from it but then it would start slipping again.

Best to try sort the leak out whilst your cleaning it.

The Hyper engines have the bearing inside the crankcase...it is always lubricated...lubrication is good for the bearing but gummy/old oil is not. :)

In that case its one of these you need

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOBAO-HYPER-7-21021-Hobao-Hyper-21-Oneway-Bearing-And-Turbofan-Housing-/141268801165?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item20e446d68d

but i would just measure the old one and buy a bearing like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/One-Way-Bearing-10mm-OD-x-6mm-ID-x-12mm-W-10-x-6-x-12-/250996539641?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item3a708f40f9

and press out the old one and press in a new one if you want to save about
