Anything like this i think would be cool as hell, there doesnt seem to be space for bearings though? do i need a hex adapter? can anyone clear this up :)? cheers.

An alternative is to make your own. For the front use regular 12mm hexes and drill out the centre hole to 8mm and fit flanged bearings. And use some teflon washers so there's no binding. Traxxas does them. Best to drill out the hole by one drill bit size larger than the hole at a time. Don't try to drill the 8mm hole in one go or it's probably going to go off centre. Oh and get some spare hexes in case you don't get the hole drilled right first time or two.

Flanged 4x8x3 bearings

At the back just use Losi mini crawler hexes as they have the 4mm bore and fit the tiny pins in the minis.

I'm waiting for a set of these Axial hexes to arrive and see if they're suitable to do the conversion with. Prefer drilling out holes in alloy as it's easier to keep cantered than in plastic. Want to see if the slots in the back of the hexes fit the pins properly on the rears. Anyway I'll see how it goes.

just looked through my spares and found hexes for front and rears, as well as little black things that I think fit over the normal axle? So now I reckon all I need is a good 1/10th set of tyres

I have just got an ftx colt which already has a 12mm hex. So am i right in thinking that any 1/10 wheel with a 12mm hex will fit straight on ?

It would indeed. Advisable to get a few in, so that you have the options immediately available should the first choice not be right....lower tooth number than is currently fitted.

The other option is to fit a larger spur, if one is available; pinions is the usual way to go though ;)
