uk drift tracks

Just a bit too far 70 mile round trip :-/

i do 100 miles atleast once a week to Northampton. The thing is, if you want to drift with others, it's worth the trip. I only found my love for it properly once I made the longer journeys. :-p

I might make them a visit. Not sold on the using the fluffy side of velcro on your tyres though. Just wish there was somewhere closer!

i was put off by doing a road trip around the UK purely for the use of Velcro. It's fun but you cannot really then adjust for grip via any adjustments. It's not really going to be a way to learn the right techniques.

this should be the track in notts, it's outdoors. What the map doesn't show is that the track isn't flat and has some interesting slopes and banked corners to play on. Also they have built and astro track next to it now

I think I need to start getting over to a proper drift track.  Myself and Norm on here keep saying we will have to check out a set up track that is for drift. Me personally have never ran on carpet before .

We are still running on fresh tarmac laid at a industial estate close to us using marker cones.  Just hoping it stays like that.

Myself and Norm went to WLRC , West London track a couple of times when we have been off work during the week (should have been doing stuff around the house but gave in to some drifting) .  The layout was good but was almost 85% full beans and any error is punished with the high kerbs and barrier to the side.

Other downside is viewing.  It's a little tricky due to the high kerbing to see some parts of the track . Also drainage on the track if there has been recent rain.

But you have got to give the turn one a go.  Scandinavian flick it and throttle it with some counter steer.  Carry it wide from turn two up to turn three and flick it for infield section.  Just make sure the "chaser" car behind doesn't get too close for contact as you will both end up in the barrier at the side.
