richie-rich Posted August 11, 2013 Share Posted August 11, 2013 I'm having trouble with a savage xl k5.9, it starts fine, tune is good and I have just fitted a new clutch. The trouble I'm having is it engages drive moves a bit then stop and it will rev on the spot. I can slowly pick up speed and it ill be fine but under WOT it dis engages drive and the spur and pinion gear are left spinning freely. I have tightened the slipper clutch and checked the gearbox and there doesn't seem anything wrong can anybody shed some light on this problem please? richie-rich Posted August 11, 2013 Author Share Posted August 11, 2013 Yeah I have checked them too, the savage is literally like new, a freind bought it from a mate with the clutch gone (due to a clutch bell bearing failure) so I replaced the clutch and now this problem has happened.
