dazzi220 Posted March 16, 2006 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Evil Emporer of Sony, Ken Kutaragi held a hastily arranged press conference today, responding to a drop in share prices after rumours leaked the console would be delayed until late this year. Citing copy-protection-related delays with the system's Blu-Ray discs, he said the machine would now launch worldwide in November for an unspecified price - around £400 imo Sony are betting that blu ray will be the next big media over the rival discs HD, its unclear at present but suspected ps3 games will come on normal dvds, if blu ray takes off Sony have the choice to make the games on those discs altho the chances of delvelopers filling a blu ray disc is near impossible The system will come with an upgradable 60GB hard-drive built-in (not as an optional extra as the Xbox 360 has). An online play system will be available from launch, free-to-use for "basic" access. The machine will, as expected, also be backwards compatible with PSone and PS2 titles. And once again Sony's little white lies have come to light, at last years e3 sony claimed the ps3 would have the power of 30 xbox's and now it seems otherwise. The ps3 has went with ATI to develops its grafic chips and the actaul chip designer has spoken out, ATI and a few developers already have the ps3 dev kits and games are being made as expected the ps3 is stupidly hard to make games for as the ps1 and ps2 and a good 2-3 years is needed with the console before delevopers can get their heads around it. ATI have stated the ps3 is on par with the xbox 360 " Don't expect a revolution, the ps3 will be running games looking as current 360 games" The ps3 will be able to handle little lighting effects etc better as the ps2 does now in the current generation. But for roar beef the 360 has the slight edge altho graphically they are both capable of the same thing and its down to developers to do their magic. When Kutaragi was quized about the e3 statements he claimed the info was taken out of concept - yeh right kenny baby, more powerful than 30 xbox's how hard is that to understand. Sony are well known for their lies and in the end the console don't differ from each other that much in either department, tho sony always will have the upper hand due to its relaxed development rules. other news? The 360 is doing worse than anyone ever imagined in Japan and now microsoft are considering repackaging the japanese consoles and shipping them to the US and Europe. A poor launch was expected in japan but not to this extent, simply the japanese are not impressed with yearly updates, 1st person shooters and america's obsession with sport and war so the console is doomed to fail and add the still very much alive hate towards america over Hiroshima. dazzi220 Posted March 16, 2006 Author Share Posted March 16, 2006 Has been put back to November then? no its been brought forward, orginally it was planned for a spring 2007 release in japan, but with sony's arrogance and unexpected success/power of the 360 sony went on the hush hush, bumped up the ps3's power and grovelled bact to ATI to make the chips, now they want to release it the same time as Nintendo's Revolution.
