Fair play for going out and breaking a few hundred quid on the first run haha.

Tested Gladiators tonight, awesome tyres in wet grass, loads of grip.

£3.49 breakage, not too bad... Looking at getting Titanium ones in the long run,

Although both dogbones are slightly bent now, as the right side turnbuckle was ever so slightly bent too (straightened out easily, will keep as a spare).

You bashing at skate parks or something?

Back flips off a quarter pipe to a grassy mound.. so to be expected.

If it lands 10ft onto one of the back wheels on the side then it bends.

My fault, not an issue with the truck.

I half expected to ends to pop off before the turnbuckles bend but oh well.

Need to be more careful back flipping, but just normal jumping on dirt mounds it handles really well.

Like this? ;)

I had a great day out with mine today, it was meant to be a day crawling with the Scout with the possibility of some Firestorm action, however.... I forgot to pack the Scout!

Yes similar to that, need to get a cameraman then I'll get a slow mo,

Did plenty of well landed ones, just occasionally it lands on its side on the back wheel hence the bent turnbuckles.

The E-Firestorm is a fantastic basher though, love the speed and handling (turning circle isn't great but it doesn't traction roll). I could gear it up a little more, stays cool on 20/88.

Do any of the RPM rod ends fit the firestorm?

No need, get the HPI White ESE rod ends made for the Blitz ESE, they are stiffer plastic and don't pop off easily.

HPI part 104651

What a good diff oil to start with guys?

ive had a little look through and kinda get the feeling it's a personal choice.

ive not rebuilt a diff before so not really sure what oil to start with.

We just bash them about, no racing.

I have 50,000 cst core RC oil. I drive mostly on tarmac though so I prefer a more locked diff. The car is very stable however. Take note that not all diff oils are the same and unless they are rated in cst then they cannot be compared by wt rating.

20,000cst to 30,000cst works well in these

I'm currently running 20,000cst

Top job, thanks guys

i will have a look for something around the 30,000 mark an see what that's like,

it feels fairly stiff the twist the diff at the moment so I'm guessing what's in there is quite a high wt oil.

i just as well chuck in some new bearings while I'm there.

If you need bearings. Don't buy HPI ones they are very expensive. rcbearings.co.uk are very good and their bearings are about 75p per bearing.

Were you running without a rear bumper?

On this occasion yes, got the car off eBay for £80 plus post and gave it a quick rebuild but it didn't come with the stock rear bumper, it is on order though.....this was its maiden run too
