Hi all, I just noticed the new FTX Carnage 2.0 Brushless is out now. Does anyone know if they've made any improvements to it? I noticed the ESC is an update version but the motor looks the same. The transmitter is new but have there been any other improvements? Thanks, yeah spare parts is definitely worth checking before buying. Whilst looking around I did see that the Maverick Strada range have dropped in price (Thinking of maybe a Christmas present for my son as he is also into RC cars). It's 4WD and a brushless motor. I know Maverick is kind of the entry level but could be a bargain at that price. Has anyone had any experience with the Strada range? I see some people comparing them to the FTX Carnage. Parts are probably not as easy to get but it's around £40 cheaper than the brushless FTX Carnage. You get a lipo with the Carnage though. Yeah, I was looking at the gorgon but it's only 2WD and is brushed. I was after a brushless 4WD. Thanks for the suggestion though. All good fun looking into these things 🙂

Hi all, As black friday deals will be coming up in a couple of weeks, I was planning on getting a new brushless RTR truck or stadium truck for park bashing. I'm after something that is not going to break too easily and has some decent power. I will be using 2S Lipo batteries. I was looking at the FTX Carnage brushless but the motor looks to be a smaller 380 motor? I would love to get the Team Associated MT10 but that is a bit out of my price range. Any other suggestions? HPI Maverick maybe? I'm UK based so needs to be available in the UK and parts need to be readily available. Sub £250 ideally. Thanks

Hi, Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap soldering iron that won't break after one use. I've wasted so much time looking at soldering irons on Amazon and they all seem like cheap junk. I only want to use it to solder deans plugs on a couple pf ESC's. Something sub £30 would be good. Thanks all

Hi @Kpowell911 I bought the skyrc S65 charger and used it on the weekend. I just wanted to ask, have you used the 'Lipo Storage' function? I tried it in order to charge a 2S lipo I had just used up 3.8v as I won't be using the battery for a couple of weeks. It charged both cells up to around 3.8v but then sat there for a while and seemed to idle around 3.7 - 3.8. I stopped it manually in the end. I was expecting it to end the charge when it hit 3.8 on each cell. Just wondered if you have used that function? Also should you always using the 'Lipo Balance CHG' function everytime as I noticed there was another function for 'Lipo Charge'. There wasn't much in the manual to explain what the difference was? Thanks!

ah ok, I thought that might be the problem. I'm assuming the Tamiya plugs could handle 2S ok though?

Hi all, I'm new to lipo batteries, and need a basic and relatively cheap lipo battery charger (under £30 preferrably). I only really need it to charge one battery at a time, but I need one that I can select the amps on, as I don't want to be charging a 4000mah battery all day. There are so many to choose from I am thoroughly confused. Any recommondations please? Thank you

Hey all, I'm looking for some oil filled shocks for my Blackzon Smyter as it's a bit springy. I've been told these will fit, but I don't think these are available in the UK (WLTOYS 124018/19 (70/80mm hole to hole). Apparently the Blackzon Smyter is a re-badged HBX 1/12 Vanguard. As this is a fairly new model in the UK I don't see any hop ups for it yet. I've just ordered a lipo safe charge bag just to be on the safe side. I have seen those mini volt checkers around too, so I think I'll get one of those! Hi, I have very little knowledge of lithium ion and lipo batteries as I have always just used NIMH with my Tamiya kits. I recently bought a Blackzon Smyter monster truck for my son for Christmas (at least, that's what I keep telling myself). It came with a Lithium Ion 1500mah 7.4v battery (https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/blackzon-smyter-battery-pack-li-ion-74v-1500mah-w-t-plug-1347537). The hobby shop also sold me this lipo as an extra battery as apparently this car will take a 2s lipo. (https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/ftx-tracer-lipo-74v-1000mah-25c-t-plug--1333706). So my question is, how should I store the lithium Ion battery when not in use? Fully charged or do I have to discharge it to a 3.8v before storing? If so, is there a cheapish lithium ion / lipo charger that can display the voltage? Secondly, the lipo battery is only very small. Should I buy a lipo charging firesafe bag or is there no need? Same question applies to this battery, regarding storage and how to check the voltage? The car came with a USB charger cable and I was told by the hobby shop that the charger will also charge the lipo. I was questioned that but was told it would be fine. Many thanks
