  1. Thanks @Kpowell911 . I don't think the shell looks as good as the old model. Looks a little childish "Says the 48 year old who's into RC cars" 🙂
  2. Thanks guys, that is interesting! I'm really surprised they have not made it a much better model! I would have expected a more powerful motor.
  3. Hi all, I just noticed the new FTX Carnage 2.0 Brushless is out now. Does anyone know if they've made any improvements to it? I noticed the ESC is an update version but the motor looks the same. The transmitter is new but have there been any other improvements? Is the Spur gear now sealed or is that still prone to debris? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/ftx-carnage-20-brushless-rtr-monster-truck-1355104 Thanks,
  4. I've also just noticed the new FTX Carnage 2.0 Brushless has just arrived! Anyone heard any news on this? Is it any better than the old one? £199 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/ftx-carnage-20-brushless-rtr-monster-truck-1355104
  5. Thanks, yeah spare parts is definitely worth checking before buying. Whilst looking around I did see that the Maverick Strada range have dropped in price (Thinking of maybe a Christmas present for my son as he is also into RC cars). It's 4WD and a brushless motor. I know Maverick is kind of the entry level but could be a bargain at that price. Has anyone had any experience with the Strada range? I see some people comparing them to the FTX Carnage. Parts are probably not as easy to get but it's around £40 cheaper than the brushless FTX Carnage. You get a lipo with the Carnage though. Maverick Strada MT Brushless - £149 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/maverick-strada-mt-brushless-rtr-monster-truck-red-408635 FTX Carnage Brushless - £194 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/ftx-carnage-1-10-4wd-brushless-truggy-rtr-waterproof-40397 Which is the better car? Spending £194 on a Carnage for my son to break to 2mins seems a bit expensive!
  6. Thanks for the advice guys. That's interesting about the Maverick Quantum Flux. I was very close to ordering one, but I think I might shell out some extra cash and go for the Associated MT10. Maybe it will come down in price for Black Friday! Ha, yeah right!
  7. Yeah, I was looking at the gorgon but it's only 2WD and is brushed. I was after a brushless 4WD. Thanks for the suggestion though. All good fun looking into these things 🙂
  8. I have seen some videos of the MJX hyper go range. I’ll check them out. Thank you
  9. Thanks, I’ll take a look at those. I’ve never bought a used truck before. Where’s the best place to look? Usual eBay or are there dedicated RC car sales sites?
  10. Hi all, As black friday deals will be coming up in a couple of weeks, I was planning on getting a new brushless RTR truck or stadium truck for park bashing. I'm after something that is not going to break too easily and has some decent power. I will be using 2S Lipo batteries. I was looking at the FTX Carnage brushless but the motor looks to be a smaller 380 motor? I would love to get the Team Associated MT10 but that is a bit out of my price range. Any other suggestions? HPI Maverick maybe? I'm UK based so needs to be available in the UK and parts need to be readily available. Sub £250 ideally. Thanks
  11. Hi, Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap soldering iron that won't break after one use. I've wasted so much time looking at soldering irons on Amazon and they all seem like cheap junk. I only want to use it to solder deans plugs on a couple pf ESC's. Something sub £30 would be good. Thanks all
  12. Thank you for all your helpful comments. That's really good to know!
  13. Hi @Kpowell911 I bought the skyrc S65 charger and used it on the weekend. I just wanted to ask, have you used the 'Lipo Storage' function? I tried it in order to charge a 2S lipo I had just used up 3.8v as I won't be using the battery for a couple of weeks. It charged both cells up to around 3.8v but then sat there for a while and seemed to idle around 3.7 - 3.8. I stopped it manually in the end. I was expecting it to end the charge when it hit 3.8 on each cell. Just wondered if you have used that function? Also should you always using the 'Lipo Balance CHG' function everytime as I noticed there was another function for 'Lipo Charge'. There wasn't much in the manual to explain what the difference was? Thanks!
  14. ah ok, I thought that might be the problem. I'm assuming the Tamiya plugs could handle 2S ok though?
  15. Hey all, Does anyone know if these adapters are ok to use? (Etronix Tamiya to Deans adapter) https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/39232?gclid=CjwKCAiAjPyfBhBMEiwAB2CCItVPTsG8GopR9bdfRjCFQ1027QAdzocz7xR1K67Cu9-OXmGieaLjgRoC5DUQAvD_BwE I don't really fancy the idea of cutting off the Tamiya adapter on my ESC and soldering on a Deans plug. This seems like a simple alternative. I just wanted to check if anyone has run into any problems with using these? Thanks
