  1. That sounds about right. I think you can get brushless FTX models now too but they don’t come with all of the upgrades from the pro model.
  2. Looks like wheelspin have the suspension arms and, steering hub and steering holders that might be what you're after. Can't see the shock rod listed separately but they do have whole new shock assemblies if the bent one cant be "fixed" with a pair of pliers. https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/c/1665/
  3. Having said that I’ve tried them in the XV01 and realised they don’t fit the cables from my shortie packs as these have 5mm tubes on them not 4mm. Very much user error there though, should have read the description properly. Guess I’ll be off to see if I can find any 4mm to 5mm adapter sleeves now. 🤦‍♂️
  4. True. For the price these were I really shouldn’t be complaining unless they burst into flames the first time I use them.
  5. Two hardcase battery packs from CNHL, shame the leads came with deans plugs as I don’t use those on any of the cars these will fit in.
  6. One masked and ready for the first coats of paint. Not entirely sure how well I’ve timed doing this with the freezing temperatures forecast for the weekend. Might be a while before it goes any further.
  7. I’ve got a few 2S/3S hardcase goldbat packs from Amazon and haven’t had any issues with any of them. Charger seemed to think they match up to their stated capacity fairly well too.
  8. Took me a minute to realise that was two pictures. Was first thinking what’s that small car under the bottom Land Rover? 🙈
  9. They should be coming from the uk I think. They were just under £36 for the pair and £4 for shipping but they had some sort of offer code on for new customers that got me £4 off.
  10. I think the only person I’ve seen posting in here recently (from the UK) who has a truck is @Shergar so he might be your best bet for any information.
  11. Today I got the soldering iron out and sorted out the electrics in the TB05. It’s moving now but I’m sort of regretting leaving all the wires at full length on this one as there isn’t anywhere good to hide the excess. If it looks like this one is going to be a keeper I suspect it will need another going over to get everything tidied up a bit.
  12. I didn’t think to have a look at their website so we Black Friday but just went for a look after seeing this. I’ve hopefully picked up a pair of the 2S 6600 mah hard packs for £35, which still seems pretty good going. Ta.
  13. That’s not looking good with the mask. What sort was it you tried to use?
  14. If you're still looking at the Hyper Make it Build it have some decent discounts on these for black friday. The roller is only £175 right now: https://www.makeitbuildit.co.uk/hobao-hyper-vs-1-8-buggy-electric-roller-80-pre-assembled-5995
  15. Yeah, the plan for this one is to go with the traditional metallic blue and, probably, some gold wheels.
  16. Got the Impreza body cut out and drilled for the TB-05. Looks like it might be good if I could pull the wheels in a smidge to better fit the shell so I’ll have to dig out some 4mm wheel hexes. Does mean I’ve now got two bodies to prep and paint so may have to try and pull my finger out on that front.
  17. Hmm, might have to switch up my usual breakfast.
  18. Surely there are always the tarmac stage rallies.
  19. Which one did you go for? Another killer body one?
  20. I got a nice big box from modelsport containing a new shell, some paint, an ESC and (of course) some tyres.
  21. More bits have been put into the TB05; just need an ESC, RX and body now. Also tried out the other new wheels but don’t think I can pick a favourite without the body.
  22. I’ve managed to pretty much finish off the rest of the TB05 build tonight, just missing the ESC, RX and body shell now. There were a few more screws and small plastic parts missing but I managed to find what I need in the part boxes (or the left over XV01 trees again) to get it all sorted. It’s now sporting a rather quick 25kg brushless servo and a silver can motor supplied by the very helpful @tomr . I also tried out the other wheels to see how they look but guess I’ll have to wait for the body before knowing which set will best suit it. Sitting next to the XV01 it looks quite different and feels like a much more delicate thing. Not sure if this will be the case when it’s being driven but think I might have to keep this one for myself and let the lad “have” the XV01 when they are both done. Or perhaps he needs a TT02 that he can thrash instead 🤔
  23. I saw that the other day, puts the Tamiya motors in a very good light compared to the Carson. I may have put two super stock RZ motors on my recent Plaza Japan order for when I want to step up the cars from the stock silver cans. Seemed rude not to when they only cost £16 a go; only slightly more than the torque tuned are over here.
  24. I had exactly the same experience earlier in the year. In the end I just got the drill bits out and used those to put the holes in (starting out with something small like a 2 mm bit then moving up in 1-2 mm steps until I got to the size I wanted).
