What esc smoked was it a surpass or something? Cant go wrong with hobbywing for reliabilty and being really hard to kill. 1st choice hobbywing ezrun max 10 sct 120amp - 760amp burst. 2 - 4s might be too big for the small car but stonking amounts of power. 2nd choice hobbywing ezrun max 10 - 60 amp - 450 amp burst. 2 - 3s

Didn't even know you parted with the dc1, as said it was ment to encourage you to mod it to improve performance, makes a more capable and enjoyable rig and the prices are pretty cheap vs metal parts for other brands. I have had no failures on the gearset, its tough as old boots, the drive shafts pop out before the diffs take any damage. Servo is the weak point along with the panhard mount and steering bar having the screw fitting with barely any thread. Other than that oh and the very average shocks its great 😛

It wasnt meant like that, i enjoyed mine for a little but soon realized it needed more money thrown at it to make it decent.

I'm glad you choose to try the ftx, i harp on about mine all the time. Hope you enjoy it for a little bit. However im fully aware of its lack of wings, so that might change. Heavy weight rims and the metal axles make a big difference.

The xr8 would rip in this, easily do 70mph. Or 1mph with sensored tweaks. I see your thinking on sensored and looks a blast! Sure she will have fun with it and until then the wife or yourself eh 🙂

I thought it sounded like a pin slipping in the transmission. Each gear is held in place with a pin then a bearing in most cases, maybe the transmission is flexing spitting the pin, similar to what the outlaw does to the spur? Hope you get it sorted.

you 100% its the esc? tried it in another rig for example, check the cables etc. I'll blame the fact its in an outlaw for it being broken 😛 hehe

The castle mamba x sct that was 2-6s was sold sorry bud. This one is still available, but ideally with the motor as they are paired nicely 🙂

Shes back! First run of the year with the new gearing, motor, esc and 3d printed parts. A easy going shake down on 3s, did max it felt a bit weak on the power side, more road / time needed. Main test was the gearing and it didnt explode so thats a good start. Hope to make it to ROSSA this year, heres last years results for the August event 2021. If the gps is right thats a new pb today 🙂

Those 1.5 super swampers look better than i would have expected, epic upgrades, should perform really nice.

Is your motor sensored, id be keen to know how sensored runs and what the low end torque is like, eg will it crawl like an axe?

Egg shell is tougher for sure! My highrock shell was cracked in shipping some how, i think some one sat on the end of the box as bumpers mounts were snapped too 😞 This shell is dead... held together with alloy plates and rivits 😂 the roofs finally cracked, it lived a hard life, but glass for sure... vs the trx4 bronco shell. Took the trx4 out on the same weir rocks i tested with the highrock at few weekends back ^. Nice little lines that max the flex and test the ability to cross pretty large gaps. Did well but couldnt complete the final climb, every time on its roof, not enough weight to stick it to the rocks, same tires as the highrock too. Besides the axe system its stock, one day she will get some sexy brass, should transform it, oh and i really need to swap out the stock servo, the motors on its last legs. Gatekeepers up next, i expect it to excell with no bumpers and mad flex.

my lads HPI Savage XS has been pretty bullet proof at the skate park, few bent pins, but no breakages being sent to the moon. That being said as said skate parks break cars, we have got lucky. Also being said bulletproof doesn't mean its indestructible, every rc has its weak-points cheaper more so, no rc car is indestructible even ones with £1000's of upgrades break down. But cheap means cheap to fix also (if its not written off after every run) so got to weight up the pros and cons. If you expect to break it, you wont be left dissapointed... (expect it to break) 😉

Good call, interested to hear what you think about them. Front heavy for climbing is good, , i always felt the back was light, so it also got metal. Only downside is gravity's pull on the heavier parts when climbing vertical or very steep side hilling can decrease performance.

About 10 min run time, has turbo, self rights, for a first boat i think its great. Worth going brushless tho imo and there is a new one out i think thats brushless might be worth a look. Only issue i found with it being small and light, is sticks on the banks or a little reed in the water can get it stuck, needs a bit more power.

The zorro bumper might work, it has the brace buit in and unlike the outlaw / carnage one used above that has the wishbone, that needs a different shock mount to screw too. https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/316950/ Usally find 32dp is nice because most other cars run it, also benifits have bigger teeth that resist damage, chuck the ftx brass pinion away and get a steel one too.
