  1. Think you got a bargain for all the money it would cost for the Vitavon upgrades. Try making a wanted add here: https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/forum/8-wanted/ Also welcome aboard.
  2. I do agree with @Redback but for the first time the World Record is definitely within sight for some, ...Raz, James McCoy, Peter Dirks. James and Peter are both literally 6-7mph off it at the moment I think. So impressive especially with cars bought off a shelf (albeit heavily modified now).
  3. Yes you can fit most touring car type spur gears AFAIK. I used the high speed gear set on my TT02 SR in order to change the pitch of gears for something larger and more suitable for running a brushless motor. I went with a 61T 48DP from RW Racing. 62T 48DP RW Racing spur gear here (lots on eBay): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255194641541?hash=item3b6ac93485:g:OqYAAOSwhtJhdb0j 69T 48DP here (should fit also AFAIK): https://www.zen-racing.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php/69t-48dp-spur-gear-p-645?osCsid=3da614b302da69b866d83b9866eefdcc
  4. She just knows Christmas is on the way so I am sure is trying to be a good girl. 😉 It was really funny though because when we got home I was looking through the various video clips she'd recorded. In one clip when I was walking away I beckoned her over to get a closer shot and the camera caught her heavily sighing and saying; "For *naughty word sounding like duck* sake".
  5. It's a huge park area, ...no BMX jumps but there are a series of hills and mounds which make up a "Pit Pony" that can be seen from the sky. Used to be a coal tip. Link (Penallta parc): https://www.google.com/search?q=penallta+parc&sa=X&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=2ZwF6nPOvTUTjM%2CW1zjaacMnTSDDM%2C_&vet=1&usg=K_BoIckEt5fkAb90huYf3sYiMp3tU%3D&ved=2ahUKEwjRmqPckoH0AhUxSEEAHeORBRMQuqIBegQIVBAD&biw=1366&bih=625&dpr=1 Great truck ~ just hate having to clean it.
  6. I've done loads to my Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 over the last few months including making mudguards/flaps, a full strip down/clean, some new bearings, GPM aluminium diffs with heavier fluids all round and more so thought I'd force my Mrs to film while I had some fun today testing things out.
  7. Lots of great places suggested by everyone above. I like most everyone here use Modelsport UK or a local shop (Trackside Spares). Tbh I use Modelsport UK for 99% of my big RC purchases though, ....even if it's cheaper elsewhere you can ask them for a price match and they offer a great service.
  8. Have to show this off here because, ...well, honestly my Mrs doesn't care so I wanted to share with somebody. Spent maybe 12+ hours odd working on my Losi SBR 2.0 this weekend; Stripped it down, cleaned, replaced the remaining standard diffs with GPM aluminium ones filled with heavier fluids, changed over half the bolts for stainless steel ones, adjusted the suspension settings/ride height and then refitted everything back together. Very happy with it now ~ standard diffs shockingly were all almost completely empty of oil (see picture below of front diff where oil had all but completely leaked out!). 😮 Another GPM aluminium diff ready for fitting (this one was for the centre) Also added a Traxxas waterproof RX box to protect the receiver as standard it is just open to the dirt/water elements etc. Painted the calipers with gold spray paint and clear lacquer as I didn't think the red standard calipers suited the truck. Last two pictures of a birds eye showing some of the stainless steel added screws and the new ride height set up.
  9. I'll tell you it took some proper head scratching to get that to fit in there. Worth it though as it gave good results straight away with that ESC & motor combo compared to my old set up (Castle 2650KV & Castle MM2 ESC).
  10. Today was a good day, ...after seeing my parents I was able to spend the rest of the afternoon/early evening wrenching on my Arrma Typhon speed runner whilst the Mrs chilled out with some TV. Fitted new bearings all round that I got courtesy of RC Bearings: https://www.rcbearings.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home Then put some fresh silicone oil in my front and rear differentials, shimmed them a little and fitted some Scorched RC titanium centre driveshafts I'd bought myself a while ago. All ready to rip again now. New gearing also fitted so pushing for the 130+mph range next session out.
  11. Are you on Facebook? There was one for sale in the "UK RC bootsale" group for £45 from a guy called "Chris Smith". Link here but you may have to join the group first to see it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/343166169862687/permalink/1035954653917165/
  12. That's awesome @Nick. I didn't tell my Mrs that I had suggested that charity so I just showed her now about the forum donation and it brought a tear to her eye. Over 20 years odd ago the condition wasn't widely known and still even today very few have heard of it so I'm sure the charities appreciate any financial help they receive towards helping them giving support to sufferers.
  13. You should always try different brands. 😉 If Arrma make something I like, can afford, "need" and want then I'd most likely buy it but then that goes for any manufacturer tbh. I never stick to one brand as there are just so many different RC's I'd like to try from lots of different manufacturers.
  14. I agree I think the pricing is off. Personally I would of liked to see Arrma do a proper 1/5th scale on road car or possibly go the opposite way with a proper 1/10th or even 1/12th scale car but with less plastic parts & more quality carbon fibre or aluminium bits. Not that plastic is all bad but just there is alot of it on those models especially at those price points.
  15. A truggy would be much better suited to skate parks imho than a buggy.
  16. I've been on here only a few years now but I believe it has been going for well over a decade and probably closer to two decades. @Nick is the gentleman to answer how long the forums been running.
  17. I like it because it's a good well laid out forum, covers most if not all areas of RC as well as has some nice regulars and plus as a gold member there are fairly regular competitions to enter. 😏
  18. Welcome aboard @Paul_Fulton_RC . Tbh I had to do a double take as thought you were already a member on here but think it must of been Facebook I've seen you on as well as from your YouTube videos. Hope you enjoy the forum.
  19. It's such a solid build. Has 8mm dogbones as standard in the rear axle. Beast. 😉
  20. @tomr reminded me to share this pic as been working on my Losi SBR 2.0 rear diff. Glad I did as the OEM rear diff was on it's last dregs of silicone fluid which is shocking as the truck was new in March this year (I bought it used but still it must of been leaking the entire time from new I'd guess). I wanted to add thicker fluids, sealed bearings on the outer more exposed ends and I always service my RC's anyway whether they're new or used ~ good excuse to fit a GPM upgrade diff casing as well. 😎 Waiting on some stainless steel screws before reassembling and hoping to tackle the more difficult to access front & centre diffs once I've more free time.
