  1. The 1/18 scale trucks are a pretty good size for most of itπŸ‘ I've done bits specifically for the mini crawlers.
  2. I've had a crawler course in my garden for years. I had quite a few wall building projects with big piles of stone lying around so I've made the most of it for my crawlers. It went most of the way round the garden. I've made a few bits permanent with cement and stone. But most of it originally was stone and rock piled up. Like my stupid user name suggests I live on a steep hill. It's probably nearly 30ft from lowest to the highest point in the garden, so there's plenty of steep climbs and descents. Here's a picture from the cctv which shows most of the recent work I've done. It's good for 1/10 crawlers and good for mini crawlers. Trx4m is a great size for it. The terrain is very unforgiving (when the truck tumbles down it) , mainly sandstone and a strong mix of grit or sharp sand, so very grippy. I've done this so hopefully I can use it all year round. The other stone found in the local area gets slimey in the winter or very wet weather. The Trx4m tarantula is very good on the course. And here's the Bronco coming down a section.. And here's another little line in the Bronco... Thanks for looking and if anyone else wants to show your crawler course, please do.
  3. Another injora body. Had a aliexpress delivery of figures. So I got the hacksaw out and did the necessary. Quite a good fit now. I do think he may need some warmer clothing, it's cold up in the Pennines. The only gearbox I could manage to squeeze under this body without cutting sections of the floor/ interior out was the injora forward gearbox. Injora bumper front and rear. It's got the rhino 80a esc and 2200kv outrunner motor. I've only used it a few times. Plenty of power, very smooth, very quiet but not waterproof. And I'm pretty sure the particular motor is good for 4s, the esc 8s. I've tried 2s and that's enough, trust me. Axial ar44 axles, stainless steel links. The wheelbase is about 320 ish mm but does fit the 313mm jeep body. Desert lizard 90mm internal sprung shocks, droop setting. Very good shocks, especially for the money. Fastrax rocko tyres, great all rounder.
  4. @Lone-wolfThanks mate πŸ‘. What shocks did you order from Injora?
  5. Does anyone know if you can put the unitrak body and rear cage on a rock van chassis? I presume the chassis are identical. Are bumpers and body mounts needed?
  6. The Bronco on the crawler course.
  7. The Bronco got it this time... https://youtube.com/shorts/-KXQUXpFZtk?si=VxYWeogzGtB9vm58
  8. 1.9 tyres and beadlocks from Injora. 9imod 55kg servo. Bruce and Jeff from aliexpress.
  9. Thanks mate πŸ‘ It's one of the badgers that visits.
  10. Finally tested out some of the new sections of my crawler course. Not all the cement is dry enough. Will need a couple of little tweaks but pretty good. I'm testing the tarantula with 64mm tyres and then I'm going to try the 70mm. The Bronco is getting a go, so durability testing on that body.
  11. Probably could have been more careful... Testing out the new bits on my crawler course.
  12. Fitted the lay down servo on my tarantula. Had to bend the plastic frame and add a couple of spacers. I have overdrive front and underdrive rear on the tarantula. It's just for crawling so I think it's worth having. The only downside is side slopes. It will kick the rear out at little.
  13. @Gaz! That colour looks mint πŸ‘. Never thought I'd like a brown truck.
  14. @walkbythesea my Trx4 defender is fairly old I got when they first came out. Same radio gear upto current trx4 as far as I'm aware. I have a radiolink rc6gs V2 and rc8x and both can do cruise control. You can lock diffs independently, if you have enough spare channels.
  15. Very cool mateπŸ‘. Scx10 ii is a capable truck. And welcome to the forum.
  16. My injora tarantula Trx4m. Can't call it Traxxas because there isn't one traxxas part on it. This thing is a little spider, I love it.
  17. I've got a few injora hard bodies Very good value for money.
  18. The crawler course is looking pretty good. This is not all of it. The cement is dry enough to get a go hopefully before the rain starts.
  19. Vote for trx4 from me. Nice kit to build. I really like the lockable diffs. Turns on a penny when open. I like seeing how far I can drive it with the diffs open controlling wheel spin with throttle. Very capable trucks. And I love the clipless bodies.
  20. Looking good πŸ‘, like that bodyπŸ‘
  21. I'm going to get a 32% underdrive gearset. The 59% is a bit much. I've not removed a pinion from the stock motor. Warm it up, it should come off.
  22. Get the crawler gears from Injora, they come with metal pinion. https://www.injora.com/products/injora-overdrive-underdrive-stainless-steel-transmission-gears-for-1-18-trx4m I have the 59% underdrive (way better for crawling over stock ratio). They now do a 32% underdrive, that maybe better if you want to do some trail driving. But I haven't tried that one so couldn't honestly say. I run my bronco for a while with the plastic pinion. Only reason I changed it was motor swap. The injora motor comes with a stainless pinion.
  23. @Stormbringer @Lone-wolf My missus doesn't mind at all. She encourages me if anything. Can't wait to try it out. Got to wait for the cement to dry. Hopefully the badgers won't trash it when they arrive later. It's definitely strong enough for the crawlers. I know this because the badgers walk all over it.
