  1. The stock HPI slipper pads are garbage, you might have worn it out or it might have gotten moist or grease on it. I replaced my Xs slipper pads with some pads I cut from my Losi Mini 8ight slipper pads. Also, I did back off on the slipper because of missing differential teeth, but it still wheelies when I want it too. You might want to check if the nut that holds the spring is still on the threads, I found that the difference between a tight slipper and the nut coming of the threads was marginal so I put in some washers in between to lessen the gap. 2. Depending on your budget I would suggest you consider buying a better transmitter with which ever vehicle you end up buying. My sons are 9, 7 and 4 years old and they are able to play with all my rigs including my 6s 8th scale rigs. For my 4 year old I adjust the throttle end points on the controller limiting it to 25% and the speed ends up being quite manageable for him. There are a lot of budget transmitters that will allow you to adjust end points (Radiolink, Flysky, Carisma). As for the vehicle, many folks will tell you to buy the Traxxas due to parts availability and all I will say is that you'll need all those spare parts because without significant upgrades most Traxxas vehicles break often. If all you will be doing is skids and some off roading than a Traxxas vehicle will be fine. I would suggest you look into the 3s and 4s Arrma vehicles, but Arrma at times Arrma does suffer from a replacement parts shortage. Also, I know that Losi does provide a switch on their RTR transmitters to limit the throttle but I am not sure about Arrma. ZK
  3. Nice, I can keep my HPI rigs running without worrying about spares. ZK
  4. Traxxas is one of the few big name brands that loves patent trolling, i.e. patenting other people's ideas or obvious ideas and then suing others for using them. They are based out of Texas, the Patent troll capital of the world and use there lax laws and corrupt justice system in TX to sue other companies. There are plenty of good informative documentaries on YT detailing what exactly is a patent troll and how and why its so prevalent in TX. Also, couple weeks ago they issued a copyright strike to a popular YT RC channel for just mentioning the Traxxas Xmaxx in one of their videos. ZK
  5. I sent you a PM but didn't hear back from you regarding payment details for the 3.8 Chrome rims. ZK
  6. I'll take these items please: - Proline Desperado 3.8 chrome rims, 2 unopened packs - £15 - Proline Badlands 3.8 tyres and inserts, 1 unopened pack - £15 Please send me payment details, thanks. ZK
  7. Hi Gaz, Would you consider breaking it up as I'd be interested in that motor. What size is that motor, 280 or 370? ZK
  8. I'm really interested but I can't find any reviews since this was just released. Since you used it can you provide any feedback on the performance, specifically the latency? Thanks ZK
  9. I'd be interested in the carbon top plate and brushless maniac motor mount. ZK
  10. I have owned the Losi Mini 8ight-T since it was released. Make sure you read the manual and break in the differentials. Its a love hate relationship with this car, when it is working its amazing to play with, its really dialed in, just like an 8th scale Truggy. But its weakest points are the differentials, absolutely garbage. Even though I shimmed my differentials from the get go, I managed to ruin 4 of them and they aren't cheap to replace. We hardly jump our Truggy and still managed to chip teeth on the differentials. I was told by Horizon Hobby that the V2 version of the differentials is supposed to use better material but I am still waiting for my order of V2 differentials to arrive. Other than that, I have had issues with the ball ends coming loose from the knuckles, hubs and carriers. I have no idea why because those are plastic but I went ahead and upgraded those parts to GPM aluminum parts and used thread lock, no more issues after that. The stock shocks are great, depending on how high you plan jumping the Truggy you might consider getting some stiffer springs and changing the oil. Of course like others have mentioned, if you want to get the most out of this chassis you will have to upgrade the motor. I replaced the stock motor with a Velineon because it was a direct drop in. The stock motor over heated with a 2s battery while driving on artificial turf therefore I had to replace it. The Velineon does get hot when bashing in thick grass otherwise it does fine if geared correctly. Make sure you cover the gaps in the spur gear cover, although it seems like its a good fit there is a little gap and pebbles/dirt will get in and break the teeth of your plastic spur gear. The stock tires work well but will wear out quickly so you might want to source some new ones with a 12mm hex with the appropriate offset. You might want to upgrade the front hinge pin holders to aluminum, I damaged mine by nicking the wall while exiting a corner, I didn't think it was that big of an impact and at slow speed as well, but the plastic brace did not last. That is all I can think of right now. ZK
