  7. Hello Julian, welcome to the forum 👍 I am no where near Basingstoke so cant help but providing there are no faults with the engine and it's in good condition they are usually pretty easy to tune. What Car / Engine is it ?

  9. the bottom video the crankcase was loaded up with fuel so try feathering/teasing the throttle untill it clears the top video you can see the throttle/brake servo move which made it increase revs.
  10. If you losen the spark plug does the engine turn over easily ? There is a knack to starting those engines and its really easy to flood them.
  11. There is a grub screw which adjusts the spring pressure that holds the reverse pawl in, see link below for image. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Traxxas-Reverse-Output-Assembly-Model/dp/B0006O5P8C
  12. These are designed for the MAXX but I am thinking about trying them on my nitro revo. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=447353
  13. He did say "Throttle butterfly has a slight gap at the bottom for air it seems and I've tried to start with choke on and off but no luck, also tried it with throttle open a bit more"
  14. He has already said that he put some petrol down the plug hole and it didn't fire up, if that's true then its nothing to do with the carb/settings because as I said you can take the carb off and it will still start and run for a second or two if you put petrol straight in to the cylinder.
  15. I wouldn't go out and buy a new plug as it's not been proven to be the problem but it would be good to try another in it.
  16. "tries to start" , quite often the engine will fire just once, like a small pop that's the time to turn the choke off and see if it starts. You can remove the carb and it will still start and run for 1 - 3 seconds if you put some fuel down the plug hole. if all you said above is true and you haven't over looked anything then it could be the plug breaking down under compression (I have seen this a few times in the past) or it could be the ignition timing.
  17. I got my first RC when I was at school, it was a tamiya corolla I think, I used to charge up like 10 stick packs to take with me because they lasted about 5 mins each. I am over 50 now and had hundreds over the years, have around 30 now and my best ones would be the ones that I have the best memories with. 1 Mardave Marauder 2 Traxxas 4x4 vxl 3 Hotbodies Lightning 2 4 FG Marder 5 Thunder Tiger MTA 4
  18. There are two versions of flysky receiver AFHDS & AFHDS 2A The GT5 will only bind with a AFHDS 2A or equivalent receiver The Turnigy iA6 receiver looks to be AFHDS 2A so should work with the GT5, but do your own research to make sure.
  19. I have too many RC's really, petrol, nitro and electric and to be honest even though electric RC's are easier, faster and more reliable I find them boring because most of the enjoyment for me is the technical aspect of it and I love hearing and watching a well setup engine driving round a field and even though I am getting on a bit now the sound still gives me goosebumps.
  20. I am still looking for a Nitro Revo, may consider a Roller if the rest of it is complete and in decent nick.
  21. I am looking to buy a Nitro Revo , Ideally standard but might consider a modified one along as it's been done nicely. Must be willing to post. let me know what you have with price including delivery.
