I can remember a time when the forum was buzzing with activity on a weekend sadly now it seems almost as dead as a dodo

got a big decision to make. With the passing of my big brother he gave me this before he died. Now ive always been into my Landrovers but im really thinking of getting his van converted to a camper. as i already own a van for my work i cant justify running 3 cars so the D2 would have to go.
Its in mint condition with less than 10k on the clock and been remapped so its quite quick . The only real thing holding me back is the fact you cant park them any where as loads are going missing and ford being ford you can nick them with a piece of wet string Grrrrr

The transit will break, it will cause you constant stress of it walking away but it will also give you something physical to remind you of your brother and something you can enjoy. Personally I would get a relocate and dummy obd port kit, good Thatcham full closure alarm to do away with the transit locking and a physical device like a steering wheel lock. There is little more you can do to keep it safe, then convert it and enjoy.

Should be an interesting day tomorrow, I'm on the interview panel for my replacement. Well the apprentice I will train to take my role in about 5 years. Really impressed that 3 young ladies have made it to face to face stage too. Very few female mechanics in the truck world.

Well it was an interesting day. Very shocked that 4 candidates didn't even bother to turn up. Their loss. Those who did turn up were very impressive. Very close call so 2 have been invited for a practical assessment, I've got a feeling both will be offered a place. I am very happy to train either of them as they appear to have a good attitude to the job.

I have just absolutly beaten my car
insurance renewal quote to a pulp. Spent about an hour re-checking my details to make sure it was right, but it is. More hobby money?

Technically as it being Christmas Eve Eve Christmas has now started. I shall thus be imbibing copious volumes of adult beverages and consuming excessive amounts of food. It is incumbent upon me therefore to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year now, as I shall only lurk periodically over the next two weeks, unless you inbox me, then I shall reply with due haste.
Merry Christmas One and All. -
Give my dog hundreds of toys to play with, he couldn't care less. Give him a leaf from outside and he's the happiest little dog I've ever seen ?.

What time do UPS deliver upto?
My tracking is still showing out for delivery, 7.34pm.
Just been onto the UPS website on live chat, after giving them all my personal info and security checks, only to be told that the support guy on the other end was in the US
Then he transfers me to a UK support center. Gave him all my info again only to be told that he can't check local deliverys and that I should call blah blah blah blah...
It's getting rather late...

Broke my own rule and now I'm kicking myself. Used a new brand of masking tape today without trying first. Paint bled under ruining hours of work. Furious with myself.

Happy Armistice Day.
At 11am today, it will be exactly 100 years since WW1 ended.
In remembrance of all those who served and sacrificed.
Lest we Forget.

Today was truly moving for me. I have been working but shortly before 11 over 1000 staff and subcontractors came to a complete stop, the refrigeration units shut down, flags lowered to half mast and we all spent 2 minutes rembering those who have fallen. Never have I witnessed so many people from so many backgrounds, races and religions come together. It has given me hope for the future. We rember them.

So after 3 weeks building a custom body on a 1:1 recovery truck for a customer it was delivered today. Just had a call it's been written off on its first job. Wounded is not the word.

Usual farce - if your in the midlands don't deal with Sandicliffe - possibly the worst service i've ever had from a company. Promised vehicle back for 16.30, returned to me at 18.15 - leaving me stranded at work since 3. Booked for service and MOT - low and behold they MOT'd first, and failed her on a bulb (which service should have picked up) and two rear tyres very close. £16 for a bulb change and £120 tyres and pass. Some recommendations - needless to say they'll be rectified at a different dealership - my patience with them has run out. Rant over.

eBay fail of the day. Ordered item Sat, FAST & FREE - del est Tues or Weds. Lots of other sellers but we needed this for work, time critical. They didn't dispatch till Tues, on 48hr service so needless to say arrived today. Later than 'advertised'. Went to leave feedback - can't leave anything but positive for 7 days as a power seller..... and can't 'rate' dispatch time etc as pre-filled - total rubbish.

Took my mums mobility car for a service today and when I picked it up noticed that they had unplugged the dash cam why though ?
