Well done Sir!  Which were yours and what stadium were you at?

Ty.  Not the best shots from the set, but we're syndicated (?) via a free site so opted for some reasonable ones.  Top two are mine - grave digger and the spiderman truck.  Taken at Prode Park Stadium quite some time ago to be honest - we we're sat in the gods so needed to use my longest zoom pretty much all out - 450mm - not easy handheld.

  2. Trying to inbox you re shocks - your inbox is full so you need to clear some space chap.

  3.  Whose our local EXO specialist?  Fancy something different at 1/10 and a couple of nice looking ones have crossed my path.  Got to admit I know next to nothing about them.

That bad?  One's immaculate with a few upgrades, the other used with lots.  Love the SCBe so quite fancied something that handles well on the ground, soaks bumps up and can take a bit of jumping.  Oh and isn't a 1/8 buggy - got too many of those!

  4. 33% increase in business insurance this year.  Not amused - there goes my planned payrise to minimum wage.

Must be a reason for that kind of price hike, or is that quite normal?

      Seems rather extortionate.

No claims on policy and no changes to it from our end or theirs.  Trying to get to the bottom of it but I expect the answer will be risk change blah blah.

  6. Try to help eBay buyer by splitting an auction into two parts only for him to refuse as he didn't want to pay £2 1st class postage.  Told him fair enough I'll close the auction for him to spit the dummy out and spam me with abusive messages.  Best laugh i've had all week.

Good luck. Sure you won't need it though. It's the same with any inspection, if you work to a good standard all the time inspection day is just another day.

  8. Anyone else having paypal issues?  Site is all over the place speed wise, and there's a 45-60 min wait to talk to an operator.

Found this little bit of info on debit card disputed payment.

To withdraw consent, simply tell whoever issued your card (the bank, building society or credit cardcompany) that you don't want the payment to be made. You can tell the card issuer by phone, email or letter. Your card issuer has no right to insist that you ask the company taking the payment first.

    3. johninderby

      johninderby

Not sure how it would work if the payment has already gone through but worth investigating.

  10. Suggestions for somewhere to stay in the big smoke?  4 adults, 2 kids for two nights, central or west so long as it's accessible to town and thorpe park and doesn't cost as much as a week in Malaga.

      mydoddy69

Use premier inn on the suburbs of where you want to visit pre book it and you should get a great a deal travel lodge is the same but I find premier inns are better with kids

    2. capri-boy

      capri-boy

Cheers Rich, that's what we've done in the past but have left in late and are travelling this week.  I've found something that looks suitable on AirBnB, it's on the metropolitan line in zone 5 and a chunk cheaper than any travelodge on the right side of town.

  11. Consider this fair warning (not that it's needed).  DO NOT EDIT FOR SALE POSTS AFTER AN ITEM HAS SOLD TO REMOVE SAID ITEM ETC.

This is for buyers and sellers safety.  We have a good trading section here - lets not let it slip.

On multi threads I sometimes use the strike command through the description / price of the items that have sold.

It's a dodgy practice removing items, that many do it out of ignorance is no excuse though - it's clear int he FS rules.

    3. johninderby

      johninderby

How about removing pics from the listing and just leaving one pic?  I’m running out of space for images stored on here and need to delete some to make room for new ones.

    4. capri-boy

      capri-boy

No to removing a pic if it's the sole one of an item.  I use flickr for all my photos, adds an extra step into doing things but no concerns about space - plus my android uploads all pics straight to my flickr account anyway.

  12. Been awhile since last happened but looks like someone is trying to scam me for £150. Bigger fish to fry this weekend but come Monday...

Paid by goods of course. Not here, will sort a refund out then exact some justice.

  13. Spent some time with a brew cleaning the camera gear.  Annoyed that I've a fault on my favourite lens - 50p spring but no doubt will have my pants pulled down getting it fixed.

    1. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Often the bill for a lens repair outweighs what the lens is worth.

Just a tip, but if you can get away without repairing it, definitely go that route, unless it's a mega expensive lens.

    2. capri-boy

      capri-boy

£600 new, no longer made but an equivalent is about double.  I don't mind paying £30 labour for what's an hours work at most- undoing 3 screws, pulling the mount ring and 5 mins swapping a spring.  Much more than that and i'll try and source a spring and do it myself.

    3. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Not too expensive in lens terms then, but I bet it'd be a lot more than £30 to repair.

From what I've seen, unless you can find a really honest camera repair place.

      Good luck :good:

  14. Seriously need some RC time.  Code brown at work Fri, spent weekend replacing flooring tiles, toys, resources and disinfecting every surface imaginable.  Back to work today and get kicked in proverbial teeth by a family we've bent over backwards for.  Cheers.

  15. Stay strong folks.  Weekend is so close I can smell it.   Hit the track with the micro, outdoor track practice with the 8th's, out for a bash or take the new glass out for some test shots.  Decisions.

  16. Guys - Please re read the FS section rules - they're there for buyers and sellers protection.  We have a good community here, and maintaining standards will help keep it that way.

Messaged seller - awaiting reply.  Had it just been the mis description i'd have kept it with a bit of cash back.  Ces't la vie.  Hoping the other one (new display stock) is better!  That one's a prime so no zoom but much more £ so will wan't to get it on the test set up to check it over fully.

If you mean in a business sense...I only ever trust my brother (who I've worked with for nearly 10yrs)

Most of the contracts we handle are done via verbal agreement.

      Tis a dicey game indeed...

    3. capri-boy

      capri-boy

The pertinent part is we share premises with a 'friend' of my partner (in both senses of the word) , and the business plan was based around this shared cost model - theirs too originally.  They decided to rent further space in the complex independent of us a few months back, as they wanted some space purely for themselves (it's above) and have now announced they don't need the main building and won't pay their 'share' of it.  The lease for the main building is very simple and in essence just names both businesses as lessors - it's due for renewal in a few months.

    4. Fly In My Soup

      Fly In My Soup

So both parties have signed the lease?

You'll be able to make them pay, legally until the lease is up, simply pay your half and explain to your landlord what's going on.

As for when the lease is up, your a bit trigger there, they've properly left you high and dry.......

Time to go looking for a new unit to rent I think matey.....

    3. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

What was the actual method they advertised?

If it's sent via anything less than that, you are entitled to 100% of your postage back.

    4. capri-boy

      capri-boy

On checking Dan (i'd not bothered prev, assume the high price meant quick) Economy 2nd class.  Charged more than double what the actual cost it.  That it's 2nd class signed for doesn't bother me just the not knowing.  Hadn't realised you could claim postage back IF they used a different service - many times I sell low value items and upgrade to signed for when I've only charged for non, or offer free 2nd class delivery then as it's a large letter upgrade it to first as the cost is so negligible.
