Even the plastic fantastic 9mm budget one (couple quid new) is sturdy enough, and sharp

If I could only own one RC, it'd be a 1/8 buggy everytime.  Which centre parks are you at?

  9. i was thinking, if i cant get the hyper 10tt, could i just get an sc10 and convert it instead?

I've run a few TT, and the Mini ST which is the same in a SWB version.  I wouldn't say they're fragile, but things have moved on somewhat - i'd not use either as a basher.

  11. Brushless hyper 7 still a good everyday basher ?

I do prefer a HN X1 CR Pro over a 7, spares are around but not as readily available though.  Stock it's even stronger than a 7, indeed I've an almost fully upgraded H7 Pro L that only just matches the stock X1 Cr.

  14. Bought a new RC, one Ive wanted for over 10 years but never owned. Nothing major, but Im quite excited….. Now imagine my disappointment when I see its being shipped by Hermes and the tracking has been cold since Tuesday…… it was due today…… 😕

    1. capri-boy

      capri-boy

Detest Hermes, yes the standard you receive is very dependent on the hidden worker last mile delivery person, but their back end is useless should anything go wrong.  Hopefully your unicorn RC's turn up.

  17. New body for the the Infraction/Limitless from bitty design. I might have to get one of these .

I've seen.  It's well known i'm a tight wad, but I do recognise value and costs etc.  Shipping on these from retailer to customer won't be cheap due to size, but bulk shipping from bitty to distributors won't be terrible, material costs are negligible - I guess they might have needed to invest in new manufacturing due to the size but even so I see this as little more than a cash grab.   I keep saying I'll get into custom shells, have friends who vac form industrially for Mr Kipling cakes and similar, and  but never seem to get round to it.

  20. Was given a full set of Ftx outlaw shocks, not sure what to do with them?

    1. capri-boy

      capri-boy

Run an outlaw then still not use them as their not generally a part that breaks..

  21. Had the Hobao on a FB sales page started to get the "whats lowest you will take" messages so pulled it, might have to consider breaking it

    1. capri-boy

      capri-boy

It's already cheap.  Break it you'll get more.

  23. Service due on the motor. 2 and a half years old, just over 20K miles and they tell me it needs spark plugs.  Seriously - last petrol car I owned had em changed every 60k miles with a gap check/ adjustment every service.  Madness

    1. capri-boy

      capri-boy

Nope, condition based servicing says inspection and oil change.  Service schedule says park plugs as part of every other oil change.  Live and learn, I keep saying now I work close by and don't have young children that I'll just buy beaters that I'll work on myself / scap when necessary... but then never do.  Maybe another year on this one then will see again.

Only a little 3 pot turbo BMW (same engine as Mini).  Gotta bite the bullet so to speak and cough up.  Most annoying is I couldn't get a new one (as buyer wanted my prev Monte carlo early) so had to get a used one and thus couldn't negotiate a service package.  Hey ho, nothing to do than let the moths see daylight.

  25. Hobao Hyper SSTE  really like the truggy look  So is it any good also does it share parts with other hyper models

    1. capri-boy

      capri-boy

Mostly just shares diffs, cases and a few other basic bits with the SS line.  I've had a few, love the shell design, but they're not the toughest basher - fine for flat work and jumps but big air will cause issues.

Later ones with silver towers have revised arms, which help a little with the big early issue of bending front shafts.  Oh and rims are made of chocolate... get extenders and run something else.  Anything.
