  1. WHAT IS IT? We are hosting an informal meet for crawling, all are welcome to this event who have a scale / crawler RC - there is space to use other RCs but you will probably be missing out the main fun! We will be setting some small/fun challenges on the day. Maybe some little prizes... maybe just for an ego boost. WHERE IS IT? The car park is bang in the middle of the action! See the Google Maps marker here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Penistone+Hill+Country+Park,+Haworth,+Keighley+BD22+9RH/@53.8233865,-1.9701215,660m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x59cc7765be98759!8m2!3d53.8234585!4d-1.9694585 Haworth, Keighley BD22 9RH There is other parking nearby, which is about a 5min walk away, so we shouldn't have issues with parking. It is a hilly/rocky environment, so good footwear is recommended. WHEN IS IT? Sunday 29th May at 10am. There is no "end" time, it's a public place, you can stay as long as you like! 🙂 We hope to be there for a few hours. PLEASE NOTE Please be mindful of other people, this is a popular area for walkers and dogs Bring some grub and drinks, there are no stores or toilets here. The nearest town of Haworth is 5min drive away and is lovely, plenty of stores/cafes if you want to pop out for lunch. Leave the place as you found it, be respectful Lets relax and enjoy ourselves! 😄 Cheers.
  2. You are right @Gaz!, I did think briefly CR01's were a weird choice.
  3. This makes sense to me!
  4. Yeah MiniZ have never been cheap, they are so popular in Japan and I think they would be here too and also collectable if they weren't so expensive.
  5. They do look great! MiniZ are expensive in UK though. Ride height looks a bit high to me?
  6. Wheels are HPI Firestorms part 3051 with Tamiya CR01 tyres. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/hpi-split-5-truck-wheel-black2pcs-15143 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/tamiya-cr-01-vise-crawler-tire-x-2-cr-01--391370 Let me look in sticker boxes next time I'm in at work for Spektrum stickers, might have those. EDS will be a bit harder to find but if you struggle let me know as I have a good contact who can whip up custom decals.
  7. There has been a delay with transit but Modelsport are still due to get them in store on Monday 11th! Not sure why Wheelspin has put it right back though?
  8. @Kpowell911 Sorry Traxxas have set these rules not Modelsport. They are trying to get people to go to LHS... which I get in USA but a bit of a joke here where there isn't any!
  9. I thought this was lipstick.
  10. Welcome Rich! 😄 I have a Hyper VE now, basically a Hyper 7. Can't go wrong with them! Where in NY are you? I'm just north of York.
  11. Watched "The Father" on Prime with Anthony Hopkins, golly it's an emotional ride, especially if you've had loved ones with Alzheimer's. Excellent film how it makes the viewer experience it.
  12. Pretty much only RC Racer, print died a long time a go. There's a few manufacturers who do nice glossy catalogues to flick through every year (Tamiya's is nice!)
  13. I think MIBI is mostly a drop shipper, their premises is tiny to hold stock from what I've heard.
  14. Not a fan of HPI but the TRX4 is a contender, that or the SCX10. But I still like the Boom Racing BRX02 and nobody has told me why I shouldn't.
  15. Well these replies have only given me less clarity on what to get. I like the Boom Racing BRX02 and D110. The Axial SCX10 and Traxxas TRX4 are fine but what makes a scaler "good" are we talking about crawling performance or genuine scale look? 1) Lets say hypothetically speaking if budget wasn't an option, what chassis would you get? 2) Then if you had a budget of around £300 what chassis would you get?
  16. Okay so I did some research on this because I'm a Traxxas fan boy and seem to be the sole defender of the brand here. I'll try to give reason to why Traxxas are suing HBO. USA Patent Office filing: https://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?pno=91267387&pty=OPP 02/03/2022 - DISMISSED So they are not suing HBO Max anymore... why? Because HBO agreed to Traxxas terms. The issue wasn't with the name as such, it was because HBO Max was registered as being a business for: Board games; card games; playing cards; puzzle games; action figures; collectible modeled plastic and resin toy figurines; arcade-type electronic video games; coin-operated video games; slot machines Traxxas have argued that this COULD include Radio Control Models (and then use the "Max" name with them), so Traxxas have made HBO Max change the description to specifically rule out the use of radio control models: Board games; card games; playing cards; puzzle games; action figures; collectible modeled plastic and resin toy figurines; arcade-type electronic video games; coin-operated video games; slot machines, all of the foregoing excluding model vehicles, accessories, and parts therefor. 1) I'm not sure why HBO Max being a TV streaming service have this business identification of goods, it seems unusual, but I'm guessing it's so they can make their own action figures/toys for their TV series. 2) It seems more unusual that HBO Max would ever make Radio Control Models and given that they've agreed to change their identification of goods just to quieten Traxxas, it's guaranteed they won't. 3) BUT just imagine in a world where they did, would such a large media enterprise cause issues with having RC models called "Max" when Traxxas have the Maxx range? To be fair, probably... Yes it seems totally ridiculous - but if you want to try and squeeze a tiny drop of reasoning as to why, this is the best I can think of.
  17. Asia Tees are Team Raffee mostly which I know are good, the Injora one is similar price and isn't the same like you spotted. Doesn't have to be Axial but at that price the Boom Racing BRX02 looks better?
  18. Cheers guys. Got any links? I thought this might be the case when I saw the price hencenme posting!
  19. I REALLY love the Team Raffee shells, there's a couple I'm hovering the buy button of. D90: https://www.teamraffeeco.com/defender-d90-2-door-1-10-hard-body-kit-133668 D110: https://www.teamraffeeco.com/defender-station-wagon-1-10-hard-body-d110-130587?search=d110 The D90 and D110. I just don't know what chassis to get. Boom Racing do the D110 shell with their new BRX02 chassis... but it's expensive, not out of budget but I'm wondering if I'm paying more than I need to here. BRX02: https://www.boomracingrc.com/brx02-scale-performance-chassis-kit-4-link-team-raffee-co-d110-196510 I've seen Team Raffee do chassis's for these shells, are they any good or are they junk? Can anyone recommend a good setup where I can use either of these shells? 20. Wasn't expecting you to actually post it in here. Big ol' 775 can, you going to brushless it?
  21. They don't need to do anymore, these are solid platforms and have proven themselves relevant for years. They have been facelifted several times, I think people would be surprised how basic the original 2wd models were, drivetrain couldn't even handle brushed and NIMH! You said it yourself, there are new (and old!) drivers where these models still hit the nail on the head because Traxxas and other companies bother to keep improving them.
  22. Beefed up transmission is a great upgrade out of the box.
