  1. Wrestled with these Traxxas 17mm hex conversion on my Senton, never known such a large amount of threadlock in my life, on all four and it's set solid. Bin time and find a different solution I think, zoom in to see how thick it's on there.

  3. So, I would go to a 15-16t pinion personally. You'll get less top speed, but a tiny bit more acceleration. A 20mph car that accelerates super hard won't balloon the tyres. A 60mph car that gets there really slowly will do. You'll have to tame the wheelies with your finger.
  4. Is it normal for Traxxas to put so much threadlock onto something you can't actually do it up?

I bought the 17mm hex conversion kit for my Senton, I can't tighten the wheelnuts up, there's simply too much threadlock on the threads, already knackered one wheelnut and before anyone comments, I DIDN'T cross thread it, it goes on by hand smoothly and fine up until it hits the threadlock... Tried melting it off and sanding it off, with no luck, it's like welded on there.

Not saying all their stuff is carp, just my one experience.

There's bound to be another brand out there.

I've used Hot Racing stuff before too, aluminium diff cup and it shattered into pieces, unusually brittle!

Well, my initial search gave me a total of £63 for the Typhon 3s parts to convert the Senton not including wheel nuts, but I've done another search today and found someone selling some take off parts and got the total down to £41 with wheel nuts, I believe I paid over £30 for the Traxxas stuff anyway, so hopefully MS will do the right thing and either refund me or replace them, which I will probably just sell, because I've bought the Typhon units now.

  5. See that is your own experience with them though. The only time I've not had same/next day dispatch is if an item hasn't been in stock and they've E-Mailed me pretty sharpish. It can happen with anyone, especially when you order as much as I do, for example I had 14 parcels arrive yesterday, 6 the day before and last Friday 11 showed up. If someone orders 1 item a week and has 1 bad experience in a month, it's 25% of the time for them. If someone orders 10 items a week and has 1 bad experience, it's only 4% of the time for them. All a question of scale to me, I've had good and bad from literally everyone apart from MIBI, Jimbo on eBay and Rossmods.
  6. Nope, I have no actual affiliation with them, other than been one of the first customers and always had great service. I get no kickback for my discount code or anything. Saying it as 10% is one thing, saying it as £70 is another... Would you pay £70 for express delivery? If so, then that's your own shout, I personally just wouldn't. If I hadn't had a bad experience at MS, I wouldn't have even looked for another shop and found MIBI, MS has lost at the very least £4,000 in sales from me alone because of the manager at the time. I won't go into details here, but it was witnessed by others and some people on here also know about it and have experienced similar things and stopped shopping with them, this is going back about 4 years now at a guess, but the point is, any shop can give you bad service once or twice, I still shop at MS sometimes. I've had nothing but good from MIBI, so I defend them in the same way you defend MS, if I experienced that with MIBI, I'd be looking for another alternative now, but the fact is I haven't. I just don't see why it's anyone else's business or anyone else's problem what a shop wants to price stuff at, my original question was, what is my extra £70 actually getting me personally?
  7. I would safely say 3s maximum on a 3800kv motor.
  8. Exactly, and I think I am right in thinking most of the stickers were peeling out of the box for a few people. If you are meaning the 'King' version?
  9. It's all a question of scale I suppose. Not everyone wants to squeeze every penny out of your pocket. He runs the shop how he wants, it's his investment, we can't judge, whether we don't agree or we do.
  10. Not comparable no, it's 10th scale, so like Slash/Senton, but I do believe it's a tad bigger, nowhere near UDR/SBR/Mojave sort of size though.
  11. Well it's worked for him for so long. Perhaps others should follow along. I mean, I'd rather get 10 sales with 10% profit than no sales with 20% profit. Maybe I am off though, who knows, he's doing well and the consumer is saving some money, nobody can complain.
  12. Well he is managing to expand, he's paying several wages including himself and he's passing savings onto consumers. Bare in mind, Kings Lynn models, RCGeeks, Appliance Electronics are all quite a bit cheaper than MS/WS. They must all be happy making peanuts I guess.
  13. I happen to know for a fact those figures can be fudged, I won't say how I know, but I know someone who was making millions, a big company, I won't name names and the companies house figures were in the £100-200k range 😄 don't believe everything on there 😉
  14. Without getting too off topic, Edward has expanded quite a bit since he first started up. I don't believe he's making peanuts, the others are just grabbing what they can. I will be very very surprised if his price goes up. If it does, I will bow and say you are right. If not, well.... What are you getting for the other £70. £20 difference is fine I suppose, but £70 isn't acceptable, unless Edward has to raise his price.
  15. I kinda like that, but I hate when a company calls something limited edition and adds a chunk to the price.
  16. I might already have done 😄 I am loving the Zeees if I am honest, but I did consider a Turnigy Rapid 140c 2s. I have some slightly different plans for this car now, compared to my original plans but I think it will be more fun for me and produce faster speeds. I honestly think unless you really chop this body to bits, it won't go above 50mph... The front is just a parachute on each side. I have 70g of weight up front now and a wing. EDIT; Out of interest, where is a UK stockist of CNHL?
  17. MIBIs price won't go up unless other shops do, if that's what you're suggesting.
  18. That's quite a huge price difference between MS and MIBI... I wonder where others are going to be pricing it because if they all hover around the £740-50 mark, MIBI won't be able to keep up with orders. That £70 price difference is a decent Savox/Hitec servo to be fair. That said, it still ain't going to be strong enough for me so I won't be having one.
  19. I would like to say it was skill... But no, it's more of a pin it and hope lol.
  20. It's a bit bigger than a race truggy though. I suppose driver experience will come into play a little bit also in terms of rolling and how it feels to drive perhaps.
  21. Probably a fair synopsis, that said, I don't think it drives like an MT, mines not toppled over once, yet. I think it's a preference thing.
  22. Yours doesn't like it's wing 😄 On a sidenote, I landed on a curb today right in the middle of the chassis, it was a nasty sounding landing, I thought for sure the chassis would be bent but so far it's perfectly straight. No footage but hoping to take it further afield tomorrow and I don't plan on bringing it back in one piece.
  23. Not to mention it's in the truggy section 😛 That makes it law 😄
  24. Yeah it's not a monster truck, it's a truggy. Regardless of what Arrma label it as, it simply isn't tall enough to be a monster truck anyway. @Guns - I'd be interested in seeing a video of yours, perhaps something else is in play here. You should be able to slowly build up speed without it wanting to do stupid stuff.
