Top man, I did the same on the M3 the other day (in standstill traffic) pushed a broken down car out the way, while everyone else sat & watched.

      knackered me!

Did similar a few months back. Even with all the strobes and warning lights on people still squeezed through at speed. Not one person offered to help me push the 4x4 and it's two elderly occupant's.

  2. shotgun slip modded out and the rods fit snug as a rug, and its also the perfect size forriding the scooter to so expect some posts on beach and sea fishing if i catch anything. having a vlogger cam and also the fpv cam means i can do two vids in one :)

  3. got my little cold bag all packed up with some soft plastic lures and a few metal spoon baits, hopeful to get a few hours lure fishing in and maybe a sea bass supper

  4. mackerel feathers all done, pennel pulley rigs all built, spare snoods made up, reel backed with 50lb shock leader, now all i need to do is make a rod bag up so i can carry the telescopic 5pc rod on my back with my rucksack on the scooter and im ready for some mackerel bait fish fishing

sweet AJ, i am in hope of going to do some mackerel fishing so i can get some free bait, maybe even pick up a few small whitting i can clean and fillet for baits .

i just hope i can cope with the colder months when the big ol cods come in, but i am eyeing up a cheap bass caster with the thought of doing some lure fishing for bass to, thats if i can find a few cheap rapala R13's

    4. Tamiyacowboy

Just converted my camera tripod into a sea fishing beach rod tripod holder, used a 1/4 to 3/8 camera thread adaptor, reamed out a chunk of hardwood ( half inch thick by about 2.5 inch wide ) , mounted the thread adapter into the reamed out hole and buttoned it down so it fits the quick release base on teh tripod head , now all i need to do is carve / sand out a nice semi circle to hold the rod blank in and use some small tack nails and some rubber inner tube to make a nice padded rubber base so not to scratch the rod blank.

should he able to use some old left of webbing straps to make up some sort of clips i can then strap the tripod to my rucksack , being small when closed down its not so large and having extender legs means i can adjust it to suit the beach - rod length

  5. Spent the day tying mackerel feathers and 1 ought snoods , dragged out the scrap balsa bits to make a couple shakey lures, rigged up three soft plastic sandeel lures , and tried to find a couple of rapala R13 lures , non of my local shops deal with rapala anymore its all that cheap fladen shizzles

Chris Harris? I'm warming to him and Rory will find his place soon enough. I agree about hollywood joey but in the unscripted(?) bits he can be pretty funny. I predict Harris taking over at some point, he's already shaping up to be the new clarkson. Like you say, the cheyron seg was a good watch. Still don't like jordan!

Still not there yet but getting better with every show. Actually enjoyed this and the last episode. The show felt forced earlier on but the presenters are starting to come together as a team now. Joey is indeed a bit wooden in the scripted bits but can be quite funny when he's given chance to adlib a bit.

I don't like Sabine or Eddie Jordan but I do think the main presenters are doing well now though. Joey is doing a damn sight better than Chris Evans.

i did look at the fresh french sticks but alas i did not have my backpack with me, and i do not think it would have been fair breaking them into 1/3rds to fit inside the seat well on scooter lol ahahahahha, need a couple of shotgun holsters strapped to the sides of scoot for those extra long items like french rolls etc etc lol , would also come in hand throwing the fishing rods in to lol , telescopics only retract so far lol and dont fit in the backpack or the seat well.

as a side note, the steak slices were well worth the wait , went down well with a few soggy chips and baked beans :)

  10. i wish pushing a scooter was as easy as pushing an rc lol. let alone fitting an exhaust .

  11. just done a headlight restoration , bannished is the yellow tint to the headlamp lens. did not use wet and dry paper, but good old arm&hammer baking soda toothpaste with plenty of elbow grease. and its done the job just right. lens has more clarity than the before image and noticed in the after image to

yeah grabbed a pot of original turtle wax, wanted simonoz but its really stinky like boot polish smell
i gotta give them maybe one or two more treatments and really need a warm day or half decent area to clearcoat them and let them dry off fully.

only problem is the upgrade halogen bulb i got. having a full plastic headlamp and bulb holder with a high temp bulb fitted aint gonna be to healthy, so i am ebaying every day in hope of finding a decent second hand headlamp unit just incase ( dont wanna fit bulb melt the holder/housing and have no lights at all ), spent 24-30 min on each side and theres some clarity, but it knackered me out gonna take another session but the test ride tonight had improvements down those dark country lanes

  12. stupid scooter just dies on me in outside lane on a 40mph major road leaving me without headlights or any power what so ever, have poured £300 into this damn bike that only cost me 220 to buy it.

indicators and rear tail/stop lamp are hard wired to the battery. the front lamp draws its power from the reg/rect and is a 12v AC source. so it only comes on if the bike is running and the stator is producing current and voltage ( yeah its backwards i know)

theres one way you can tell if a bike is running of AC and thats turning on ignition and putting the lights on if they do not come on they are AC running, if the lights do come on they are direct drive from the battery.

conversion is a pain, as it means rewiring the front lamps into the rear tail lamp and indicators loom but theres a chance its going to drain battery from parasitic draw . you would have to add an extra of/on switch to disable the power in the loom and then remember to turn it off every time you parked up :(

i was thinking stator to rec/reg as its a direct line to the headlamp and also the ignition so if one of the coil connections was loose there would not be enough power to run the coil and if that dropped out No spark = no motor running and a failure of the ac feed to reg-rect, but yep the whole loom is going to have to be checked over its like 10yr+ old so i hedge its got some green fuzzys on a few connections somewhere from the good old british weather we got and all that road salt in the winters.

    3. Tamiyacowboy

      Tamiyacowboy

the only things battery runs is the starter ( that does not work and is not used, i kickstart 24/7) indicators and tail lamp/brake light oil indictaor. everything else ie dash lights - headlamps- signal warning - high beam warning all run from the AC line to the reg-rect.

charging is done via the reg-rect and kicks in at 5000rpm giving 14.4v at 2a, below 5k rpm theres not enough voltage /amps to charge battery so its kind of a ticklecharger topping up battery when needed

    4. Nitroholic

      Nitroholic

Check the ignition switch too....I had one fail. Went over a bump and jiggled the internal connections ( just a collection of springs and ball bearings.... turning off everything.

Of course...you turn off the key when you roll to a stop. Then...you turn it on and it starts up like nothing happened.

Ignition switches are also placed in 'convenient' places....which usually means right where the weather gets to them, rain trickles in and never gets out.

lets be fair guys it was a first, inserting a probe into orbit around a comet and then getting the data back let alone the images we got back to . they found phile the ickle planetside comet in the end but alas to late to do anything at all if the comet spent more time going round the sun it could have repowered.

they did think about hibernation of the probe until it came back to the inner solar system , but alas they did not think the onboard gear would be upto that icey cold trip, so they went out with a big bump and slumped it into the surface instead. a kinda rock and roll ending in glory. other than a comeback failure

  15. stupid scooter , i have had less hassle with a nitro engine, than i am getting with this darn 50cc twostroke motor

I'm pretty sure there where a few guys on here that warned you it would be nothing but trouble from the start Paul me old mate and you'd be better off with a nice little 125 instead . Stop throwing good money after bad cut your losses now save and go get a decent nearly new or new 125 something that won't need to be tuned to high haven something you can get on push the button and off you go ;)

      Tamiyacowboy

no porting work done , no bore kit either, just a shed load of overheating and fueling problems when riding at 40mph.

cant find any 125cc twostroke scoots they are all fourstroke tortoises , going to head down Vosa tests center get info on how to get it registered legal as a 70cc, its the only other choice i have. cant swap to a 100cc motor as it requires a full electrical loom and costs more than the purchase and fitting/setup of a 70cc kit.

i cannot bring myself to buy a 125cc fourstroke i just dont like them and they dont produce the power i am so used to ( grown up with twostrokes )

they got that ol transit of his topped out at over 165mph , but he got told to slow down lol
the V6 was putting out 690bhp on uprated dual turbos and a larger 6 injector head.
front airdam to stop it getting skittish , side skirts to smooth flow and a honking huge rear wing to seat that power into the ground.

he came 14th as his tires expanded and they didnt take that into account for the onboard race computer, they had over 30s extra time at the finish line , 90 miles at an average of 150mph , in the 150mph class. gotta say its good going for a TRANSIT VAN lol Ohhhh and they won the hookers best car award  to lol all the prostitues voted the transit was propper banging  and a one off. as all other machines were race breed cars.

  20. 3hrs spent reading and watching videos on port timing and port modding, need to find a very cheap 1/5th scale lump to practice on. thinking start simple first and just open up exhaust ports and boost ports ( no need to go anywhere near that barrel liner then and screw everything up )

    4. Tamiyacowboy

      Tamiyacowboy

advancing the port timing means your able to bring in more fuel, a carb will only deliver so much fuel as its governed by the main jet  , bigger the main jet the more fuel is drawn in with the larger air intake and the bigger bang, not enough fuel can damge the motor / barrel / piston

advancing timing means you measure the ports openings and widen them you also may add an rxtra mill or two towards the top of the barrel aka advancing the timing. the boost port is widened up and also flowed so you get a more better flow pattern , the exhaust port is opened up allowing for more gas to be expelled, all that produces extra power but its no good if your carb cant deliver enough fuel, hence the idea to uprate and use something like a scooter carb, that way you can really go to town swap out the stock needle for something like a w7, you can also adjust needle hight setting and drop in a larger or smaller jet, its like fine tuning for the extra horses you gain.

just removing the mould.cast lines and bumps can have a lovely difference in feel, also just adding an extra mill to the exhuast timing your gonna notice the differnece right off the bat. couple that with polishing ( 180 wet sand - upto 2000 wet sand) you can get a near mirror finish, this also helps becasue the carbon will not stick to it as easy and that means you dont loose power. its a bit like having a 350 boss lump and then fitting a set of twin webber carbs rather than the stock stuff, you have more tunableilty on the fuel/air mix that keeps heat down and allows the engine to run at max preformance. i never played with those walbros but i messed with bike carbs a lot i dont think i could do much with a walbro carb not like i could with a bike carb. but the barrels and head are just like a bikes so should not be that hard to tinker with and maybe squeeze a few extra ponys out of them.

  21. the whole of my day has been taken up downloading a 7gb client for my parents.... not only that its my fault the computer is playing up ...... erm what its not MY computer its yours , i have my own pc rig but yet i have to sit and repair/fix/and diagnose a pc not even owned by me

Lost my very 1st car due to no tax. All legal in any other circumstance however it was a Sunday and I couldn't wait to drive it so drove it off and Mr old bill man put his blues on behind me. Was a lovely mg zr however it required a full gearbox rebuild at around 180ish car only valued at 400 and with they're costs of seizing and putting it in the pound I just signed it over on the spot. So I've now got a ford puma which I'm slowly sourcing parts to turn into a fOrd racing puma.

so would i give years, but when your blamed for something that you dont even touch its kinda a kick in the teeth.

as for TAX , lol yeah im taxed to, its amazing how quick you can get road tax online on a sunday ;)
took me about 3 mins and my debit card and v5c/2 and i was fully taxed for a year. insurance cost me £104 for a whole year , and i have the new keeper suppliment as the v5 has been sent off via seller/previous owner.

what miffed me was being the blame for something i had no hand in. all i do is make sure their computer is fully protected with anti virus and firewalls, downloading games and installing them is left to my oldies for them to do, i like to give them freedom with digital devices so they get to grips with them at own speed.

  22. We are on the road again, insured - MOT'd all i gotta do is wait till tuesday to grab my tax, gotta full tank of gogo juice and a full pot of silcolene mixing oil. lights-brakes turn signals all working.

i been doing research with the gov site and traced back previous mots. the bike had to have a whole new front headlamp system fitted, its registered as a SYM EURO X 50cc . BUT the bodywork is from a sym basix 50cc (same bike just headlamps are older and not a tear shape.

it failed on headlamps not working and/or not correct placement (not pointing at the road) so its a euro X but with an older styled Basix front plastics and light fittings. and it came fitted with a Leovince TT muffler (90 quids worth lol).

fast bikes are few between the best on the road is the apprilla nsr 125 ( its a near on full power job) and if done right can produce near on 34bhp. for the cheaper end your better looking at something like a suzuki RXS 100 , they top out at 70mph , thats quicker than most road going 125's these days and its stock, they are also cheaper to buy and can look nice even when they are retro oldies.

KMX-DT 125s can be super moto'd if you want them that way, ist just butting new boots on and giving them a more stiffer ride (front shocks adjusted and rear shock) again nice bikes with that go anywhere feel and they are two stroke so the powers , these days most 125's are fourstrokes if they supermoto styled

    3. RCbutcher

That might be the one my brother has apprilla nsr I know he said its newer than the rs but I'm not sure I think it's around a 2013 plate tho. Tbh shocked me he got that as his first bike.  Apart from a mini moto when he was a kid. He said he's done 90 on it ?? If true Idk but when I asked if he's nearly come off it he just smirked like loads of times lol.

He's going for a 600cc ninja soon I'm actually jelious lol  more drive to get myself sorted lol he's 8yrs younger than me.

well i put down a Deposit on a 2006 - 4 owners from new, Samyang motor jet Basi X 50cc . or for you none chinese  techys a sym jet euro X ( old style gen 1) , got under 7k (miles on the clock) 10 month mot and was serviced just last month and mot'd end of jan this year. has one of those cheapy gofast exhuasts and it runs without no clanks bangs or knocking n grinding.

it needs some care, its jet black, but i rather have a nice copper orange to look different , got some crappy stickers on it thats gonna be removed, and some crappy SPORT stick on rubbish on the side panels. has a rear wheel hugger and a long muck catcher holding the number plate , oh and silver foiled brake leavers (LOLLLLED so hard in my head when i saw them ), its nodoubt been ragged at sometime,

shares the cdi - sollenoid for start with the pug speedfight and the kymo super8-9 and the big boy scooter. rear wheel is solid, front forks are clean no oily skin after compression and rebound , just had new pads front n rear

yeah i found an RXS100 last night with a bit of ticket on it, and i know from experiance stock speed is just over 70mph , tuned up about 85 and a littlebit. but they are moreso now styled into a cafe racer , very popular bike between 1986 n 1998 ( i think) also known as the rs100 , honda had the H100 again popular to. but i decided geared is not for me. i like belt drive pull it back n let the bike do what it wants.

gotta pick it up tomorrow, then its sort insurance so i can re-tax the darn thing.

      Tamiyacowboy

i would have given it a full tune but i left the lsn and hsn a little rich, newcomers tend to abuse nitros at first and its best if its a little rich than an all out race tune

it dont wheelie he said , but told him come back in a couple weeks to month of running and i would retune it for summer running. then it will wheelie if he's go the bottle to peg it open on some real grippy grass, it was caked in mud and i say " you need to clean her up " , total newcomer i had to give a couple tips on cleaning, ie old toothbrush and plenty of time.

had only just got out the ultra4 and that nimh pack to drain and cycle charge it a couple times keep it in good memory balance.

  25. what is it with teenagers, every bike i have seen has been ragged to death, big end suffering play, coolant systems borked, vario's and clutches fragged.

Not looking forward to splitting engines and rebuilding bottom ends either.

choice between a yamaha neos 4t - yamaha jog r LC , not a 4t fan i like power when its needed not 10 mins after its needed lol

Having done a fair bit of 2 stroke tuning in my time.... I would really NOT expect 70mph cruising from a 50cc....even bored to 70cc. That implies a top end in the region of 90mph. Just about possible, with a razer sharp power band and a weekly top end rebuild. Expect high running costs. You are going to need 15hp or so at the back wheel.......and once you get to those sorts of numbers 'cruising' won't be the term.

Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade .... but trying to get serious speed from a little 2 stroke scooter is a rich man's game, and what you end up with will not be suitable to pop to the shops on. That' before you start to think about the brakes and handling on a scoot intended to go no more than 30.....

Much more sensible to buy a bigger motored scoot with better road manners, and just enjoy the thing rather than buying a 50 and trying to turn it into a missile with an on-off switch for a throttle.

I've never agreed with a 50cc not even for a 16 year old it doesn't have the power they're should you need it to get yourself out of trouble should you ever get into trouble. A 125cc minimum should be required as a lot of the youth are dangerous on the 50''s trying to get into gaps theyreally to slow for.

    4. HellaFlush

      HellaFlush

As being a 16 year old my self, I couldn't agree more. I've road my mate's 50 round town before and to be honest I would feel a lot safer being on fire... Also the fact that they sound horrrrrrific
