  1. I remember visiting beaties as a child but that’s long gone of course. We did have one model shop that was mostly plane stuff but they were good for servos and paints and a few ground things (actually where I got my original savage ss from) but went to pop in one day a few years back and it was just gone.
  2. If only there was a lhs…locally. Nothing in Swindon anymore 😞
  3. If your maxx is still in warranty then you’re safer leaving those traxxas connectors on there imo (as removing them invalidates it). This kinda adaptor should fit fine though 👍🏻
  4. Ahh no worries, good luck with it. I popped a little fpv setup (probably a tx02 but mounted on a servo connected to the front steering) on my rocksta (an even smaller crawler) a few years back it was good fun tbh…might have to give it another go now 😂
  5. This kinda thing can take up to 6s lipo input voltage down to the 5v needed 😄 **Seems that link may have been broken, I’ve fixed it….click on “this” for an example of a usable bec**
  6. In rc terms it stands for battery eliminator circuit but it’s essentially a voltage regulator (so main battery voltage in one end and 5v out the other). Na the tx02 doesn’t need to be connected to anything other than a battery. They are fairly decent tbh, I’ve used a few myself. I’d suggest it can get too hot for blu-tack and even for hot glue. I would probably suggest either a 3D printed mount or some foam/sticky foam tape and cable ties or even bodge it with string.
  7. Yeah as tug said if it’s literally just a 2 wire switch you can just short the wires and it’ll power on. I’ve had my merv setup like this for years. It also helps with what should become natural eventually - disconnect batteries when not in use 🙂
  8. Vtx (video transmitters) get hot. Often hotter than you’d want to touch. As for power you can just get a cheap 5v bec and run that between the txo2 and your main battery (or receiver or whatever).
  9. Well it should be easy enough to fix. If it’s fine out of the truck then it’ll be top or bottom of the steering posts most likely. Maybe it was supposed to come with some shims (washers). Maybe the bearings are too thin. Maybe the tolerances are off and when tightened down the plastics of the truck flex and rub. I’d say washers top and/or bottom are the quickest/easiest fix though without any actual modifying. Maybe the servo arm hole is too deep and binding on the servo itself?
  10. Well that’s much better then @Nick, cheers for clearing it up 👍🏻
  11. Ahh no worries, and yeah - strong but also still flexible. I’ve not rebroken (is that a word?) anything I’ve repaired/reinforced with tape’n’goo but I don’t really abuse my kit 🙂
  12. I prefer these types myself, they are just a couple of £/$ from eBay/China 🙂
  13. I guess with it out of the truck it’s not binding on the other joints?
  14. Can you stick a washer under the bearings at the bottom/up on top to stop it binding? Maybe some fine tuning with a file/sandpaper?
  15. Wow that’s horrible, I did wonder if it was them after I read your other post. Landys have side steps right? Steps (to support it during rollovers) and Velcro - sorted 🤦🏼‍♂️ I’m not really a fan of scalers but that really does seem silly.
  16. Screwed on bodyshell, what the what? That’s a thing? Eww. What’s wrong with Velcro or even magnets 🤦🏼‍♂️
  17. Many of us use fibreglass mesh tape (plasterboard tape) and shoe goo to reinforce bodyshells btw as nobody else has mentioned it yet. I’ve not had any yet myself but I believe e6000 adhesive is a viable alternative to the shoe goo 👍🏻
  18. I also allow the charging of mobile phones in the house 😂👍🏻😘
  19. My lipos all live in the house, in the trucks, in lipos sacks, on the side, in Jiffy bags, on top of the pc etc. etc. Dead ones go in the back garden. My understanding is that they only let the dragons breath out while on charge, in use or if damaged (the same as any other chemistry). Before being bought they are stored in warehouses in bubble wrap in cardboard boxes. I do have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen between me and most of them though just to be safe. My two pennies worth 🙂
  20. Oh and welcome to the forum 😂👍🏻
  21. Setting up steering is quite a simple thing really, where are you based? I’m sure many here would happily just meet up and help for nothing. Also what’s the actual issue, we might just be able to talk you through it 👍🏻
  22. Failing those, vices. Multi purpose. I wouldn’t bother with the connector specific block thing.
  23. Aww you beat me too it Ginge…I was just coming in with…. V1 V2 and V3 helping hands 😂
  24. You mean you guys actually like the looks of this? 🤮 Also rear disk brake = blown front tires and diffs no? 🤷‍♂️
  25. Bit of googling suggests that if they are old skool led’s rather than smd’s then they may well need different/lower voltages. Depending on size that’s possibly around 2v for red and 3.3v for white.
