That’s a really great looking truck, I’ve been looking to get a S/C truck and wondering which one to get, this as just gone to the top of my list, will be watching with interest
-
UK Warehouse will be good, let’s hope things like batteries are going to be on their stock list

Need to find something a little more challenging tomorrow but it was great fun going in and out of this row of conifers sat in comfort on some chairs by the caravan No hills never mind mountains here in Lincolnshire but we have seen some rough terrain land nearby that we can go on.

Added a bit of weight to the defender today using the fastrax black brass to replace front & rear portal drive outer housings, steering knuckles and caster blocks. Living in Lincolnshire not many hills never mind mountains so mainly trails hopefully that will be enough to stop to many rolls. Will find out tomorrow, the site owner where we are staying as some rough terrain land, which he’s happy to let us use (as long as he heys to have ago).

Photobucket, messed up so many forums, I also deleted my account, we may only be individuals but I think so many left them it did their reputation no good, I for one will never go back.

Not sure what you mean by battery converter, if you mean for connections check out this thread
-
What type of battery connectors do you use?
billyb_imp replied to Darren Frosty's topic in General - Electric
I have previously used XT60’S on everything, however right now my two TRX-4’s are both on the Traxxas connectors, but I will be changing them -
Purely cosmetic today with new aluminium rock sliders, alloy front grill set and black alloy shackles, maybe make a start on some brass weights tomorrow
-
A few black brass weighty items for the TRX Defender and a pair of aluminium rock sliders for the sport

Posted yesterday at 14:57 (edited) If your truck takes a tumble or even a light nock the shell will pop off, exposing all the inside to possible damage, i wouldnt use magnetic mounts. You can get a switch that allows you to turn your trx4 on without removing the cover, but again as its easy to access its easy to bump and a twig or rock edge could nock it off. Personally i think your best off with the stock mounts, the time it takes to unclip a clip isnt that long and it holds the body and protects the car better. Edited yesterday at 14:59 by Redback Thanks for the advice, I think I will take your advice and stick with the stock R clips, they don’t take long at all and if your out for 90 minutes plus on one battery then it’s no great problem

Hi wanting to get back in to the hobbie
billyb_imp replied to Wez82's topic in Introductions & Welcomes
Hi Wes, welcome to the forum, you’ve come to the right place, been away from RC myself for sometime, quickly getting back up to speed with the info held here within the forum. -
After yesterday’s external upgrades, today we have the internal fenders done, hopefully will help with keeping the inside a bit cleaner or maybe not. That’s enough upgrades on this for now, it’s ready to go out in to the wild.

Does anyone have any thoughts on magnetic body mounts, I like the idea of them but do they work, I am considering them for a TRX-4 Defender, something like the Fastrax ones. I feel they make sense on cars where it’s difficult to get to the on off switch, may be easier and cheaper to install a new switch in a more accessible position

Got the roof rack (or expedition rack as Traxxas like to call it), on, along with spare wheel mount, wheels with blue bead locks and one or two other odds & sods. I only have this car because Margaret (my wife) wanted one to run around with whilst I have the defender, especially whilst we are away in the caravan like we are at the moment. Margarets favourite cars are blue, hence the blue car, blue bead locks etc. Hopefully she won’t notice the availability of the blue aluminium upgrades. Next to go on will be the inner fenders, then it’s out to find a trail for Margaret

Hi all, been away from RC for a few years but been bitten by the bug again, this time with trailing. Got myself a second hand TRX-4 Defender although it’s still in the box and still looks new, certainly not been near any mud. I have been looking through the forum again, picking up advice, ordered a few upgrades (don’t we call them hop-ups anymore), hopefully will soon get out for a run in the near future, will likely be back then with questions.
