Dug the old Rustler out the shed to get it running for my daughter. I knew the motor was dead but suspected the diff was as well. Little bath in degreaser for the diff parts. Cleaned and inspected. All looks good so that will be rebuilt with some fresh grease. After removing the rear end I noticed the hub bearings were shot. Seized to the shaft so these are now in a ACF-50 bath and I'll attempt to remove them tomorrow. May as well rip the whole thing apart and replace all the bearings and get it all fresh again.

On a hardcase, I always just remove it. As you say, water and dirt gets trapped.

If I get a BNF it will most likely just be something small for the garden. 450 I'll be looking at a Trex or something. Not looked at helis for a while but I think SAB do some smaller ones now. Had a Goblin 700 and Logo 550sx some years back. Both of those where amazing but will start with a cheaper lawn dart 😁

First will be to get on here more. Seems the bug has bitten again. Went out today with my boys all on our new cars and had a right blast. Even my daughter showed interest so will get the Rustler in the shed running for her. Needs new combo and by the sounds of it a new diff. Will dig that out later. I can definitely see some more cars coming in. I really want something nitro on road, maybe Kyosho FW. I would love to pick up an old Schumacher Fusion though. Something 8s, probably Xmaxx. Crawler. Pulled my Savage from the loft the other day. It's ready to go but will most likely wait for dryer days to run that. I bought an NX8 Tx couple of months ago and a heli sim to get back into flying but it has just sat in the box so need to get back on that and maybe get a little 450 or something. Got it muddy! Well I did after the below image. First couple of packs through the MT10 went well. Stayed off the jumps as I have an issue with the Rx so will order a new one. Potato photo. Smiles all round. Can't wait to get out again!

Think the ESC is 75amp. Can't remember. Motor is 3800kv 4pole. Will prob just throw it in there and see what happens 🔥 I'll most likely end up with a servo from HiTec as I like those. I've got some nyloc nuts for the wheels and will add a little blue threadlock as well. I came across this combo when I was rummaging through the loft. Suitable?

True. Inspecting the tyre and what is left on the rim it seems there is a small portion that looks like it has no glue on the actual bead, approximately 20mm. Still glue between rim and tyre. The rest has been torn from the rim leaving the bead of the tyre on the rim. Pretty poor for 10 minutes running. Like I said no excessive ballooning was present, no cutting of the pizza. I've not seen a tyre fail like this before. If my son was doing crazy doughnuts or even flat out with the tyres ready to slice a limb off I'd be fine with it but that wasn't the case. Strange and annoying.
