  1. Will be left bone stock yes. Got a tekin FXR for the ESC and will be using my DX3s radio. Need see what servos I have, think the TT01 has a good Tamiya one in it.
  2. Hey guys! Been looking at these for quite some time now and recently noticed that numbers were getting a little thin on eBay and such, so decided to bite the bullet and order one before it was too late! Will be doing a bit of a build thread here, but time is quite limited at the moment with work and mates coming back from uni for Easter. Here's the box to kick things off: Will be building it up to run, but only occasionally indoors, don't want it getting messy Hopefully have some progress by the weekend! Cheers Tim
  3. Ma****hing sold hats to their members once...
  4. Just found this tucked away and remembered I was trying to sell it, so bump!
  5. I deal with a man who makes sure his lights are definitely on when I drive to work. He's part of the HID crew, the people who need sunglasses to look out of their windscreens. Here is a normal VW polo coming towards me on the bit of road I normally meet him: And here is Mr HID in his horrid Peugeot with no reflector kit (and his fake daytime running lights and fog lights on too for good measure) I main beam him every time, but I doubt he even notices. My xenons are rather bright on main too. Images taken from a 0801 dashcam, which deals very well with light coming towards it, I can see much less in real life.
  6. They almost came together quite hard at the end there
  7. Thing is there's no way I'll be going above 6s, so the orion is pretty tempting with it's built in psu and lower price. Knew this wouldn't be simple
  8. Beast! Would prefer an internal power supply if possible, as my charging station is already a little limited on space. Been looking at the Orion advantage touch duo, seems well reviewed and looks the part too. Anyone got one?
  9. Hi guys! Been out of the game so to speak for the past couple of years, but starting to get bitten again. I could do with a new charger to replace my ageing Core RC UAC-40. It's been very good and has never missed a beat, but it's getting on now and things must have moved on in terms of safety since I got it all those years ago. Need it to charge a massive range of batteries, if it can be charged it needs to be able to do it. From 1s 150mah in my Q4 to the 3 cell packs in my quad, not to mention a plethora of nimh and life packs. Would also be better if it could charge 2 packs at the same time totally independently of each other, as my brother is now also getting back into it with his quad and new super cub s. Not something I'm really looking to skimp on, it'll be used most days and while I do respect batteries, I don't stare at them the whole time they're charging. Hope you all had a good Christmas, Tim
  10. I use a splitter like that to feed sound to my headphones and speakers at the same time from my PC and that works fine, so I can't see why that wouldn't work.

    First car ideas

Why do people keep calling 1.0l cars "nippy"? They're slower than a snail dragging a bag of spanners up a hill. I had a C1 for my first car and it was very good. Moved you from one place to another without issue every time, which is all you need in a first car. Insurance for me was fine but it's different for everyone. Mine was a full on poverty spec one, not even electric windows never mind central locking. Moving up to a fully kitted out swift sport really made me realise what a pain it was not having at least the basics like that, so try and get a VTR.
  12. Because they're BMW, and BMW are German.
  13. We've also found DAB to be useless in both my dads 5 series and my swift sport. The 5 series had it fitted by BMW after the car was made and my swift came with it from the factory. Constantly cutting out in both, even in areas you'd think would have very good signal. We both just stick to the normal radio
  14. It's a hard life on the sterile, hermetically sealed, temperature controlled, UV screened and earthquake dampened shelf at Mannys.

    Netflix hacked

Hi guys, My brother has just logged on to Netflix for the first time in a while and he was greeted with a few changes to our account... Only the first profile remained the same, with the others being changed to names such as "DO NOT USE VIRUS" etc... Looking at the activity they've watched a fair bit of stuff, using the account every day for two or three shows. I can't understand how they got in though. The password is pretty secure and of course I've now logged out all sessions and changed it. Anyone else had problems?
  16. We get them at work from time to time in the packs of timber, some are huge!
  17. How short are these local drives? Doing short trips all the time isn't good for diesels. They need to get properly warm on a regular basis to keep them working at best.
  18. Can't say I wouldn't have done the same.
  19. 2010 Citroen C1 1.0l VT 2014 Suzuki Swift Sport 1.6l My tiny list
  20. It's only now I realise how lucky I was for this not to happen when I used to do a fair bit of soldering. Was using leaded solder too
  21. Couple of times now I've overtaken on nsl roads without a shoulder check, only a quick mirror one. Too caught up in gear, position and vision.
  22. Perfect garage for detailing work too... *grumbles under breath*
  23. Worcester is a nightmare for getting pulled out on. I first discovered that the swift can pretty much stop in its own length from 30mph there.
  24. A woman overtaking a bus here in a VW polo. Normally this is quite safe. There was nothing coming the other way and conditions were good. However, this polo was a 2013 1.2L. A car that takes 16.1 seconds to get to 60mph at best. The woman driving this one must have been in 5th gear, and I'm sure didn't really even put her foot down. She sat alongside the back of it for ages trying to make ground but it just wasn't happening. As you can guess an astra van soon came around the bend at 60, had to slow down a load and pull right to the side. Bus driver also moved right over and hit the brakes. Later I got behind her here at this slip road 20mph. Decided the safest thing to do was high beam her and get her out the way. I got on the motorway before she'd done a quarter of the slip road. Yes, driving too fast is dangerous, but driving a really slow car slowly is too.
